Deleting tokens from Art Library, clarification needed.

Hello, just wondering if I could get some clarification, my Art Library is getting huge and was wondering about removing some things from it, when I select delete I get the prompt:  Are you sure you want to delete token.png? This item will be permanently removed from your library and all games it's used in. This action cannot be undone. But the "all games it's used in" part is confusing me a little, as I accidentally deleted the token I use for a monster in the library, but he is still there in all the game journals with his artwork? So can I remove anything in my Art Library that has already been applied to something in a game Journal, or say artwork that is already used in the page toolbar?? Bit confused!

If you remove an image from your art library, it won't be available wherever it is in use.  For example, if you have a polar bear graphic that you are using for a token for a polar bar, removing it from the art library will cause the image fro the token to disappear.  Since Roll20 works via  web browser, the image may stay in your local cache until you refresh or sufficient time passes, but it will be broken for new connections to your game and will eventually be broken for your game.  You can verify this by logging in to an incognito session in Chrome or using a different browser to load your game. If you deleted an image you know is being used for token or avatar in you game and it is still present in the game, chances are good you have multiple copies of it in your library.  That would also explain why your library is filling up.  Roll20 does not remove duplicates so if you dragged the same image into the table top multiple times, you will get multiple copies in your library.
Thanks Aaron!
Along the same lines with this question. I have been using the new folder option in the art library, to help organize a bit. But I notice that is that is making a copy of the image when I thought I placed it in the folder. so if I delete the pic from the recent uploads part, will the image still remain in the game where it belongs...????

The Art Library Folder system is a way of organizing, not creating a second copy.  Anything you move to a folder should only show up in that folder (unless I'm mistaken), provided you are dragging it from the Recent Uploads (or some other folder) and into a particular folder.  If you are dragging a file from your computer into the art library folder, that's likely creating a new copy, so don't do that. "deleting" an image from an Art Library Folder simply returns it to the Recently Uploaded list.  Deleting an image from the Recently Uploaded list removes it from the system entirely, breaking anywhere it is used.
As I drag then from recent up-loads and into monster folder, it just seems to make a copy of them (as in pic) I am hoping this does not create a duplicate pic's, that would really start hogging up resources.

It shouldn't.  You can drag each one to the tabletop, select it in turn, hit 'z' and right click to copy the url, then compare the urls to make sure they are the same (ignore the part after the ?, it's just a cachebuster value)
they are the same

Ok, that must be my misunderstanding of the way recent uploads works.  Carry on! =D
so much for using folders then -- will still have to delete them at some point.....hhmmmm But not a total loss -- just some extra work.... :/
OH CRAP -- some of my player might see the Terrasque -- wait -- they never watch the boards -- no issues....lol
