The Setting!- The year is 996 Post-Sundering, and the diverse, seclusionist nations of A'ppo Nyi-The Wayward Lands, are stirring. Some to furthering trade, some to renewed exploration, and some to rekindled war. Beneath all, however, darker forces stir, and a long-forgotten struggle between the known gods and the hidden begins anew. Your adventure starts here. The Campaign!- Wayward Lands D&D campaigns are rules-light, story-centric, sandbox oriented games. Though the setting is run as a living world, the heart of each campaign is the players. The core of the game is their story, their backstories and choices, and how their tales relate to the greater events of this potentially epic setting. Mechanics-wise, all groups play weekly, and are run using a standard 5e ruleset with a few minor house-rules added to make the experience more welcoming to newer players. The setting is a complex and mildly a-typical homebrew setting, designed to provide optimal immersion with a gentle learning curve. Application Process- 2 Questionnaires & A Trial Run! Step 1 - Please PM me your answers to the following. First name / preferred nickname ? Age & preferred pronouns? Which upcoming group are you applying to? Have you done tabletop or other formats of roleplay before? If so- what/where/when? What race/class would you most like to play in this campaign? What is a quickie-version of your potential character's backstory? What is your preferred balance of roleplay to combat in an average session? Can you afford to commit to a long term, weekly game at the given weekly price? What is your favorite color? What, in brief!, is the coolest RP scene you ever participated in/watched? Step 2- Once I have your answers, I will contact you with a more detailed questionnaire on player preferences, character details and playstyle. This may involve some back & forth. Note- if you are applying for a group whose start date is later in the month , expect to wait till the week before your given start to receive the back & forth. Step 3- Should everything look good after that, I'll work with you to set up a free group "trial run" game to complete the interview process and see if our in-action playstyles are a fit. Rates/Disclaimer- This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of [$12 per player, per session, via Ko-Fi. Additional tips are always welcome. The first "trial-run" game is always free.] Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. About The DM!- Hi there! Name's September. I'll be your story-pilot for this evening. Buckle up! We're in for a nerdy ride! Seriously though- I am a 40-something creative writer, critter, & avid roleplay enthusiast. My DM experience began a bit unconventionally, as I gleaned most of my chops running persistent story arcs for large groups of players (30-100) in a variety of MMORPGs over the course of ~15 yrs. I have however switched over to tabletop, and am LOVING it, as it enables a much more personal, and immersive story. Oh, & I am also an artist & graphic designer. All your home-drawn maps are belong to me. :) Why Paid?- A girl's gotta caffeinate! But more seriously, doing these campaigns as paid games lets me focus exclusively on delivering immersive and beautiful, personalized tales to my players. It also helps cover costs for reference materials, and time making game-art! Spoilers!- I also provide personalized character-portrait tokens for all ongoing players. Essentially though- I do my best to make every session worth every penny. And I never ask for payment for our first "trial run." Roleplay is personal, and I strongly believe it's essential to ensure we are a good fit for each other before committing to a regular game. "No one knows, oho! What set these lands a-wandering! No one alive- a-hai! Was there to see the sundering! But what-a sundering, OHO! All our lands wandering, A-HAI!" -popular folk-tune throughout the Wayward Lands.
