roll20 has been extremely slow the past few weeks

In my longrunning campaign the past few weeks roll20 has been exceptionally slow. I do use dynamic lighting, but I've been good about cleaning things out in the journal. Unfortunately the game has been slow for all of us, to the point that it's nearly unplayable for a few of my players. Is this an issue with roll20 recently, with all of the new added content? Or is it a problem with my game? Is there any way to tell?
Would the addition of the Player's Handbook to our game's compendium be causing the slowdown? I've noticed it in other games, but this one is, by far, the worst.

There are many things that can affect performance. The Compendium is not loaded into memory like the journals or the API, so it is unlikely to be the issue. Advanced Fog of War, or extremely complex Dynamic Lighting can be performance robbers on slower or older machines. Keeping your journal lean is good practice, and it sound like you have that covered. For the characters that are in your game, check to make sure that none of them have dozens of spells loaded, as this can also slow things down. Beyond these best practice items, if your players are using Chrome, their issues may be related to a Chrome update that changed how Hardware Acceleration runs in the browser. Some users have been experiencing issues with Dynamic Lighting since this update, but many of those users have resolved those issues by  enabling or disabling Chrome's Hardware Accelerations settings . If toggling Chrome's settings fails to resolve your player's issues, please have them carefully work through to the first three steps of our guide to  Solving Technical Issues : Step 1: Make sure to use the right browser Please check if these issues persist when using both Chrome  and  Firefox. Step 2: Ensure that there are no extensions/addons interfering with Roll20 Please disable  all  add-ons/extensions  and  anti-virus programs. Step 3: Clear your cache If none of the above succeeds, please have your player thoroughly work through  Step 4 .  (Don't forget the complete Console Log!) Thank you!
