Don't miss this special episode of Wyrm Ta- * broadcast from this location terminated - the timeline is accelerated - activate assets * Hello all! This will be a Shadowrun 5e campaign based on Dunkelzahn's (a famous Dragon who was also the 7th President of UCAS and died in suspicious circumstances) Will, and the events that are provoked by a recent televised rereading of it. Expect a fairly classic Shadowrun campaign, but with the twist that each session is being narrated by an episode of Wyrm Talk chronologically after the runs take place, with special guests appearing on the show that were involved in the events. First session will be a session 0 to build 'runners, choose handles and discuss game expectations. Who: I'm Deekin, real name Matt T., full-time experienced DM with 10 years of running and playing roleplaying games under my expansive belt. You are a wonderful player who will partake in this venture. What: Wyrm Talk, a Shadowrun 5e campaign of my own design. Where: Here on Roll20, and on my Discord Server for voice. When: Weekly on Wednesdays, 6:00PM GMT+1 to 10:30PM GMT+1 (with a half-hour break at a good stopping point included). Why: I love running games and because I'm doing it as my main job I've got plenty of time to run *good* games. How: Pay me £10 per session, turn up consistently with a character built according to the rules and with an interesting background, and I can guarantee you a great game of Shadowrun 5e! Looking forward to running for you all!
Looking for five more players now, but as long as I get at least two more the game will run :)
Hi Deekin. I'd actually just posted that I was looking for a Shadowrun group. I'm somewhat familiar with the Shadowrun universe, having played a couple of the video games (Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall) but I'd like to give the tabletop game a go so I can learn more about the lore in depth. I already know a little bit about how to make a character, but a rookie when it comes to the rest. Would you be accepting beginners?

I've also played the PC games and they're a good primer, but I'm happy to help you pick up the nitty-gritty as it were :)

I only ask because this is PTP. I'm also in a D&D group at the moment that runs on Wednesday evening, but it's only once a month. So I'd be able to attend 3/4 sessions for this group every month. I understand that might be an issue, so let me know if it is and I'll try my best to re-arrange.

It's a fair question, but I don't know the answer unfortunately - I've deliberately designed the story beats that I have so far to be quite open-ended so it's got the potential to go on for a good while if everyone is enjoying themselves! :) Obviously 4/4 weeks would be preferable, but I wouldn't object if you wanted to play a couple of sessions before you tried to rearrange stuff?
Still looking for four players for this game. As long as at least one more player joins, the game will go ahead this Wednesday :)
I have a few issues with paying for a RPG game. Mainly, I have 2 issues with it: I think one of the most important things for an enjoyable game is that both the GM and ALL the players enjoy each others company and have similar playstyles. How do you plan on ensuring this is true? I do not see any vetting process. I worry that many paid GMs any just interested in money and do not care about running quality games. I feel this is why many paid games have so many player spots. Also, I feel that your player paying you, makes a GM hesitant to do anything that might piss off the player, lowering game quality. How can you show me this isen't true for you?

Can't claim to have all the answers, but I'll answer as best I'm able what I'm doing to address them: I can't make people like each other, unfortunately. I can't even 100% ensure that people that seem like good players are, but certainly I'm reading everyone's applications carefully. If you tell me about a particular playstyle you prefer, and someone else indicates that they hate that playstyle, then I won't invite both people, because that's a recipe for disaster in game. I can understand that, and whilst I can only point to my other successful games as an indication that I won't do this rather than totally prove that I won't. I will not hesitate to make the exact kind of decisions that a GM should make (like kicking disruptive or rude players) and I will follow the rules of the game regardless of whether you are paying me or not. To do otherwise would be to run a bad game, which would be both not fun and self-defeating (who wants to play in that kind of game?)
