For those who are unaware, the playtest materials for the 2nd Edition of Pathfinder will be released on Thursday, August 2nd, and the formal playtest of said materials will be underway shortly thereafter. I am seeking two to three additional players to participate in my running of the playtest material, an adventure entitled, "Doomsday Dawn." This is an adventure that has been designed by Paizo to allow for creating and playing a large number of characters over the course of several sets of encounters. As such, applicants should only be highly-motivated players who are willing to read through and quickly assimilate the necessary rules for the playtest of Pathfinder 2nd Edition, and are capable of building and adjusting to playing many different characters over a relatively short period of time. Likewise, it is important to understand that the primary purpose of participating in the playtest will be to playtest. Paizo will be opening surveys periodically throughout the playtest period, seeking feedback on specific game elements and mechanics being tested. As such, though I am normally a GM with a very heavy emphasis on pure roleplay with a large list of homebrew rules, I will be running the playtest as close to exact RAW as possible. There will be no reasonable compromises. No matter how much sense it makes for a character to have or not have a certain ability, only what is possible through the materials released will be used in the playtest. If RAW becomes unclear on a specific topic, I will have a discussion with those involved over what we feel best fits, though my decision on the matter will be final. With that said, though fun is not the first goal of participating in the playtest, it is something I do very much hope to have -- and with any luck, is something that will be shared by all at the table. I do want prospective players to understand that there may be matters my hands are tied on: If the adventure directs me to run a particular encounter, no matter how absurdly difficult or pointlessly easy, that is what I intend to do. Regarding the actual time of running the sessions, I intend to run sessions of roughly four hours in length weekly on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evenings EDT. The day of the week is yet to be determined, and will be based on the availability of selected players. Sessions will start at some time between 6:00 PM EDT and 8:00 PM EDT, again to be determined. Depending on how long it takes both myself and the players to properly read over the information and rules after their full release, sessions will either begin the week of the 6th of August or the week of the 13th of August. Sessions will be conducted on voice over Discord, so use of Discord and a working microphone are both necessary.
