Looking for players to play in a long term home-brew campaign. The world setting will very likely involve a small start in the material plane, quickly evolving into multiple planar travelings in order to solve (problems). This will include but is definitely not limited to: the Feywild, the Shadowfell, the Elemental Planes, etc. This campaign will be starting at 4th level in order to dodge some of the dredging of the early levels. Levels will progress quickly in the beginning. My rules as a DM are as follows: 1.) I am not out to kill players. That being said, I will in a heartbeat. Three reasons you'll die in my game are as follows:
a.) The dice say it's meant to be. Meaning, if you've been saved once or twice and rolls still kill you, eventually it's meant to be.
b.) The players themselves doing something stupid. If you rush into a room of enemies alone without a legit plan, I won't be trying to save you.
c.) If there is a good story reason for your character to die. We're all players. SO, if you rush in to save 4 allies and die in the process, you're a hero.
You get that death and should love it.
2.) I enjoy a solid 50/50 of encounters and roleplay(notice I said encounters, not fights). When it is roleplay heavy, I want legit roleplay. Some funny, some serious, play the characters and story out as it would. On the other 50%, encounters, do not always mean fights. You can talk between the encounters, you might be running from something you can't kill in a chase scene, etc. 3.) Most of my games are closer to the epic scale of games. You'll be running multiple missions like pieces of puzzles, that all come together and matter in a larger scale later on.
4.) This is the MOST IMPORTANT rule to me. Rule of fun. Meaning, sure, dnd5e has it's rules and they should be followed. But, we're here to have fun. If something out of the rules is a little more fun it will be allowed. For players, or my NPCs. 5.) The DM in the end, is right. Again, we're here to have fun, but for there to be a little structure, the DM is right. We can have conversations and talk about outcomes and thoughts, but the last say is the DM's in the end. OVERALL: WE'RE HERE TO WRITE A STORY TOGETHER. I'M NOT PLAYING ((AGAINST)) YOU, WE'RE PLAYING A GAME TOGETHER. I'm more than happy to DM for new players, though I would like people to have at least a little experience with Roll20 so I can help them learn quicker. In the end, I want my game to be MUCH LESS POWER GAMING, and much more interesting, fun, and role-playee characters. Come up with something interesting that you and everyone else will fall in love with. I plan to start this game next weekend, being 8-13,14 or 15 pending people's availability. Friday nights are the most likely to work. and sessions will probably be anywhere from 3-5 hours. If you have ANY QUESTIONS, message me. If you would like to play, please post here and give me a quick run-down of your experience.
