LFP: Torchbearer RPG, 9 pm Pacific Coast Time

"Torchbearer is a riff on the early model of fantasy roleplaying games. In it, you take on the role of a fortune-seeking adventurer. To earn that fortune, you must delve into forlorn ruins, brave terrible monsters and retrieve forgotten treasures. However, make no mistake, this game is not about being a hero or about fighting for what you believe. This game is about exploration and survival. You may become a hero. You might have to fight for your ideals. But to do either of those things, you must prove yourself n the wilds. Because there are no jobs, no inheritance no other opportunities for your deadbeat adventurers. This life is your only hope to prosper in this world." From the Torchbearer rig rulebook I am looking for 2-3 players to begin a life of fortune-seeking and survival under the rules of the Torchbearer RPG. I will run the game on Roll20, or through Google hangouts if necessary. I will begin by running the scenario, The Dread Crypt of Skogenby , which is an introductory scenario for the game written by one of the game's authors. HOWEVER, if players have already been through that scenario, I can run something else. The first session will include character burning (generation) and depending on time possibly beginning play. Requirements for play: ALL players must have audio capability with their computers. This will NOT be a chat-based game. If you are interested, please post!
What day are you planning to hold the game?
Good question Niall. I cannot run the game every week, so it will require some flexibility on dates. I prefer to run the game on Friday; however, I am flexible. I can play other weekdays or even on the weekend as long as the game is scheduled in advance. I know that many people have plans on Fridays and weekends, including other games often times. For that reason, I would like to set a tentative day of play, but the game will proceed based on the players' availability. A good strategy that i would like to use is for the group to determine the next session date at the start of the current session. For that reason, if you are interested, please post your interest as well as the day of the week that you would prefer to play, and days of the week that you could potentially play. Thanks!
Hi Nathan, this sounds like a lot of fun. I have dabbled in Burning Wheel a bit but never been able to truely get in and play, and I have begun to read through Mouse Guard. However, Torchbearer also looks like a lot of fun and I have been planning to get a copy anyway. This is about perfect time-wise for me, I am on a similar schedule. I am on a nightshift panama schedule meaning I am free one weekend, busy during the weekdays, then busy the next weekend and free during most the weekdays. Panama , (I do not switch between days and nights). TL;DR, Basically, it comes down to: I am free every other weekend guaranteed with some more days between there. Fridays would work out fantasically for me, though it'd be a bit of a stretch for us to start tomorrow I would have to get word back asap. I am then busy next friday, (the 28th).
Great Mark! I'll count you in. Um, yeah I wasn't planning to start tomorrow. I apologize if that was not clear. Again, if you are busy next Friday, depending on the other players, we can schedule around that. Welcome aboard.
Thanks! Looking forward to it.
