[LFG] Daytime Play M-F (role-play a must)

Hello ! I will jump into it so people don't lose interest in reading this post to quickly! Time Zone : Mountain, U.S. (I will play outside this time zone if it matches my time, English is my only language though) Availability : Monday -Thursdays 6 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Preferred Setting/Favorites : 5th edition (Tal'dorie), Star Wars, 7th Seas Experience : 25 years D&D Tabletop, 20 years RP, 2 years Roll20 Character : Just please don't make me heal. Please. Even if I offer, say no. I don't learn from my mistakes! To expand: I am Lisa, I live in Colorado, I am a mom, and I own my own company so my schedule is mine to make! I am going to ramble so please forgive me! My availability is when my school-age kids are away, and this really combines with a few things I will go into later. I do have dogs and a kid not old enough for school but he's pretty independent. Saying that I may need to get up here and there for quick quick breaks but I don't let it get out of hand. If I can't show up to a session I let you know well in advance and I don't mind people rolling for my character in my absence. I really want to do 5th edition, and I love love love Matt Mercers world so that would be so so so cool. Now here is where I get a little picky, and I have some pet peeves. 1) I want to play with adults. I have teens, even older teens and although I like to lightly goof off and make jokes I don't want to be with immature players because I use this as my escape from that aspect of my life. I know age can mostly be taken as just a number if you are a mature young adult I won't be able to tell if you are mature so that's fine. Being excited and having fun is one thing, but when it takes away from the setting, the game time, and the immersion I just don't have fun. I also like long sessions with a break or two for bio and snacks. 2) Open player mics, I really enjoy discord more then the roll20 but whatever works for the DM I will enjoy. I hope not to play with open mics, push to talk is sooo much better for Roleplay and story immersion. I dislike hearing people eat, sniffle, and hear their dogs bark in the background. I REALLY get uncomfortable when we can hear them talk to people in the RL world while we play...its just a thing for me. Cameras are ok if you want to stream, I don't mind at all! 3) Experience is not mandatory, but I hope my fellow players respect the DM and other players enough to know they should try to watch some videos or read tutorials enough to keep the game flowing. There is nothing worse than a newb who refuses to take notes and help themselves and takes away from the game time to be explained or helped. I don't mind helping outside of the game time, but we all have busy lives and its a miracle we get time to spend together for a single day a week, lets not waste it making jokes that drag on so everyone can one-up each other and explaining how to find the initiative button for the 5th time. BUT ALSO I totally don't expect everyone to be an expert on all the things, because I am not one myself. I have trouble with Roll20's drag and drop system and sometimes my macros can need some tweaks. 4) Discord is a must, I like to chat out of character, show off pictures of our pets, and just get to know the people I play with. BUT also I don't want to see guys with their shirts off holding peace signs in front of the mirror of their bathroom. I'm here to make friends and be cordial but NOT THAT FRIENDLY. Also, I want to play with fellow nerds who know the cardinal rules of the geekdom. "Don't be a dick", please do not talk down to me or mansplain, respect me and my character and go into it knowing I am not my character. To finish up the #1 thing I absolutely need is Roleplay. I want to play with people who can be improvisational and can get into their character and the world. A DM who can carry a long-term storyline and a world that can allow us to discover and explore, but intice mystery and intrigue. I need my fellow players to know the line of story and character and the real world, and understand metagaming sucks. I like to play with people and characters I enjoy to be around, everyone cant be a dark brooding outsider....then we would never REALLY be together and enjoy others company and how can you do a group campaign with people who hate other people? Okay , I am done rambling. Seriously. Oh, wait! How to get ahold of me? Discord Lisa#3822 I guess here, although I don't know if I would check to be honest Email? Lisa_grlwitgun@hotmail.com
Impressive detail! i've taken the liberty of adding your discord, since walls of magical tag are less facilitating than would be ideal
Thank you, it sounds like I am so picky but really just want to make sure I am open and can find joy with my group!
With respect, you sound a lot like the kind of person I seek as a player, but can rarely find here, though I have. My own recruiting threads with rules generally run to pages because I have been here on roll20 for about 6 years and it can be hit or miss unless expectations are clearly laid out. Right now, I am in a Mood to expand my gaming, run some pretty detailed 5th Edition D&D, I have answered a few threads in LFG tonight, to see who might answer back. I have not built a group, I do not have any ongoing players. No maps nothing, just scanning the LFG forums. I do not know what Tal'dorie is. But I have run nearly everything that is an RPG out there, unless it is super obscure or super modern. I prefer Sci fi, but I am currently running a Star Trek Adventures game every two weeks (that is closed.) So it strikes me, okay time to get back into 5th edition again. Make some maps, design some story arcs. Then ran into this thread, on page 2. I have added you to Discord.
I am going to bump this post, I had found a group but its now going on break for a time and I think I would like to find something to do till then? Like I said to break it down, I just want a mature group. I love to goof off and laugh but sometimes having very immature players takes away from the actual play and I REALLY want a group that roleplays, no nack and slash and forest clearing. This doesn't just mean storyline it means most of what is happening invoice should be character interaction if we are not in combat. I would like a daytime game if possible, please.
It was nice chatting with you a few weeks ago. Sorry, but my game is now full with 6. Good luck.
Hey Lisa, I have my own home business as well and am able to set my own hours for the most part. I'm wondering if you've found any groups or if you would be interested in starting one. I am willing to GM a Fate Core game of whatever genre (superheroes, fantasy, or sci-fi). While I don't have a ton of experience with 5e I would be willing to learn more. I am also open to learning new systems to run something. I completely agree about open mics. I would like to get a group that is dedicated to being in character first and foremost. As for my GM style I usually run longer stories with arcs that involve a connection to a specific character or topic the group is interested in. Player driven story is a must in my opinion. Otherwise I may as well just write a booked. Let me know if you're interested in starting something up!
Hello there Lisa I would love to Invite you to The Mouse-folk Journey I see that you have your own company and I respect that, I am running a 5e Home-brew Campaign and don't worry i will not make you heal. I understand you have children and your real life comes first and that is always something i put first before any of my games. So if you ever need to drop from the campaign because of your children or family i am fully ok with it. I love using discord for voice and just sitting and getting to know all my players and all my players love doing the same. In this Campaign experience is not the first thing on my list as i do take beginners and teach them the ropes its always fun teaching. I tend to keep teens in there own parties so you don't have to worry about not playing with adults. My schedules are always open for mountain time and whatever time you wanna pick in my campaign is highly up to you if you wanna change days you can play its all up to you. I am EST time myself but i have a very flexible time range. Below i will post my forum link and if you ever have any questions you can Pm me about them. Also i will add you on discord. https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/6708725/lfp-d-and-d5e-daily-the-mouse-journey
