My players cheat with Dynamic Light!

Hello all! TL;DR; If you move your character without releasing him to a final position you can spy ahead and return him to the previous position, without the GM realizing you just scouted ahead I few months back I upgraded my subscription to plus to support the Roll20 Team and get my hands on that Dynamic Light. Everything worked great and I quickly learned how to use it and DLed all the campaigns I DM and me and my players were very happy! Recently I realized that as a player was moving his token he could see the map ahead, but in my screen he appeared in his initial position, as long as he didn't release his token midway and returned it to the beginning. Thus a patient player could scout any unblocked corridors ahead, without me ever realizing it. Am I missing something? I started to use roadblocks so that they cannot scout ahead too far, but that is a half measure (that is kinda practical, but still). Is there any way to prevent that kind of trick? Thank you in advance!

Hi Theodoros S., There is an option you can set on your page's Dynamic Lighting settings to "Only Update on Drop". The player's visible areas will not update until they release the token, so you will be able to see that they have indeed moved.
Wow, how did I miss that? Thank you very much! Keep up the amazing work!

I would also recommend keeping any monster or npc tokens on your GM layer so they are not seen either till it is time for them to encounter said monster/npc.
I often use the GM layer, depending on the situation, thanks for the suggestion

I also move the player tab to a generic splash screen page between game session, to discourage any "off the clock" exploring. I no longer worry that my current players would actually do that, but I started using a splash screen during my early Roll20 days and now it's just habit.
