Another complete noob LFG

Hi, My name is Nick, I'm looking for a UK based group and like the title says I'm a complete pen-and-paper noob. You guys have PCGamer to blame. They have ran an excellent article showcasing this site in this months mag, but Ive been looking for something like this site for donkeys years :) What I'm looking for is a group of gamers who could include a brand new player and have the patience to show me the ropes. I was considering starting with D&D. Ill keep this post short but if you want any-more info just drop me a PM Ill be happy to answer any questions, or leave a post in here. o/ Thanks

im interested! id especially prefer 3.5 d&d as a wizard in the forgotten realms setting

Alright we will have to get together in a skype call or something discuss. I would prefer playing DnD Next because i find 3.5 over-complicated.

probaly first step is to arrange some dates and times for all for a chat.  i do have access to a ts3 server if needs be. i am free most nights >6pm Uk time

I heard D&D Next is similar to 4E, is that true? If so, I'd love to join your game if you wouldn't mind.

If you guys decide to do 4E, I wouldn't mind DMing from time to time, but I also want to be able to play as a player. I've DMed for a few of my friends before in live games and each time I was a player and DM. If you guys are against the idea, that's fine, but if you are alright with it then that would be amazing.

Wow this thread moved on well :) So a quick re-cap: We have Nick T (me), Mark B (+1), Alexander H, and Carl H who are the noobs. Dave D and Nordin R who have gaming experience. Trey M who has volunteered to lead us and introduce us to DnD.

I'm completely like nick, read it on PCGamer mag and have no idea how to do this, can I join?

Count me among the interested. I have considerable experience (mostly D&D from 2e through Next), and could easily DM in a pinch, but was hoping to play. Most of my old gaming group moved away years ago and I just heard about roll20, so I am anxious to give it a try. My time zone is Eastern Standard - will that work?

Trey and I were talking on Skype last night and we decided I was going to be the DM, and if it's fine with you guys I would be a player as well. We will be doing 4E. I would like to remind everyone that the biggest a group should be is six adventurers. I didn't expect to find this many people looking to join ^_^;; My Skype name is Nordinthelich, so if anyone has any questions, please feel free to message me and let me know.

Good work chaps :) I don't seem able to find you on skype as that name, any ideas whats up?  Also I'm gladly surprised to find such interest here, thats a good sign :) I think we do have enough interest for a couple of groups so maybe it would be wise if we looked at what times people are available and see if that can separate the potential grouping. Ill send out a PM to all who have replied here with some questions and see what response comes back.
