Warlords, Kings, Tyrants, Crusades and Gods know what else has tried to take the land of Abolesh, but its people are a resilient bunch. Comprised of the great City States of Cronen, Rathalic, Spara, Krast, and Orano are considered barbaric from their more united and civilized neighbors as Abolesh has no unifying ruler. These City States only band together to fight for the defense of Abolesh. Despite the tenuous relations between these cities during peace times they fight well side by side and put their grudges behind them to defend their “country.” Ancient legends speak of a time when Abolesh will unit under one ruler that will come from humble beginnings to unite the cities to form the greatest empire this world has ever seen. Cronen is a trade city that specializes in luxuries like wine, silks, jewelry. This is by far the wealthiest city in Abolesh. Ruled by a merchant guild Rathalic is a city full of horsemen. Their mounted warriors are famous throughout the world. Many foreign kingdoms hire their failed horsemen to train their cavalry. The city is led by the Lords of the Horse. Spara is a warrior city. Their warriors are taken from the womb and trained their entire lives in the ways of war. Fearless, disciplined, and focused these men are envied throughout the world and are known for charging straight into the enemy lines and cutting through 10 men before falling. The City is led by the best warrior and anyone may challenge for the part. Krast is a city of magic and wonder. The wizards in this city have been known to push the boundaries of magical knowledge and it allows any magic users from the other City States to come here to study. Many cities are fearful of magic and gladly give Krast their magically inclined infants, so they are at least trained properly. The city is ruled by the Magi Council. Orano is the most balanced city and has the best status of life for an “ordinary” person. They do not specialize in any one area and instead encourage their people to follow their own path. Orano is normally the mediator in times of crisis.
