Turning off 'Snap to Grid'?

Hello, Is there a way to use the grid but not have free-form drawings, text, tokens, etc. snap to it? I like to use text boxes to mark players and NPCs, and draw the maps using the free-form tool. I want to turn the grid on to provide a rough distance estimation, but I intend to set it to a size greater than what individual characters can move (to keep the screen size smaller). Currently, the text is snapping to the upper-left corner of each grid box and it is impossible to move it between grids. Is there a way to disable this snap feature while keeping the grid turned on?
Not currently. You can hold down alt while moving a token or text and it will not snap to grid.
Thanks Badger, Holding alt is a workable solution. I know you can set things to 'Is Drawing', but this doesn't seem to be available for text and is too time consuming for lots of free-form drawings. What about shrinking the grid? The reason I don't like using it is I haven't found a way to make the individual squares physically smaller. If I set each square to 1m and want to make a 40m map the map gets too big and everyone has to be scrolling all over the place. If I could shrink the individual boxes I wouldn't have a problem using the grid.
If you edit the grid's unit size of the map, you can reset the grid size. 1 unit is 70 pixels. 0.5 is 35 pixels. Work it from there.
Thanks Brandon, I'd been thinking that was related to the units. As in, 1 square ("Unit") = 1m. I've gotten spoiled recently, my questions get answered so quick I'm getting lazy...
