Noticed this when playing last night. If someone is emoting, then the message to indicate that they are wont appear, which can be quite an annoyance and you wont know if they're there or not.
I can see why this would be intentional (whispers etc.) but I'm sure it can be tweaked to only happen if the sole symbol in the box is / or if it starts with /w
