Looking for a game that tests the limits of your imagination? CHECK! Tired of D&D and want something that will give you Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, DC/Marvel Super Hero, Die Hard Action Movie experience all in one game?? CHECK! Like Cards games like Munchkin? CHECK! Like Poker Chips?! CHECK Look, I might have been like you. I dived into 5th Edition and I played it since release. I've played Out of the Abyss, Storm Kings Thunder, Curse of Strahd, and home-brewed a fair share as well. D&D is fine..there's nothing wrong with it. That being said...my adventures went further and further away from that standard fantasy genre. I started incorporating SCI-FI, Horror, and other strange elements into my game...until one day I sat down and decided I just needed a change and take a break from D&D. 5 or 6 months ago...I came across something that looked like it dropped out of the sky and answered my prayers of what I wanted in a game. I found Torg Eternity. This isn't JUST a post to try to seduce you into my game....I have a couple of players, AWESOME, FUN Players..and would be honored to find about 3 or 4 more. No, this isn't to JUST seduce you into my game. I am trying to find a way to dig through the "New is Weird" feeling that you might be feeling and go to the heart of it. First Off, New IS weird, but it's Awesome. Below I've listed why: 1) TORG isn't a new game: It's been around forever...this is a new iteration of it with new rules, new mechanics and a new awesome story. 2 ) So what's it about?!: At it's core is this: In the near future...our reality on Earth is forever shaken as it's reality is invaded by 7 other realities that wish to drain it of all it's Hope and Possibilities. Fortunately, Earth's reality is strong and it fights back. Rare Individuals undergo a Moment of Crisis and become Storm Knights who battle these invaders and wish to take back the world and win the War. 3)Look, I like Rolling Polyhedral Dice....I don't want another "Specialty Dice System" : Well, I can understand that. I jumped aboard the Star Wars Fantasy Flight System and rolled and looked at the dice pool like I was throwing Chicken Bones and trying to Divine a Scene out of them...Well TORG is easy...at it's heart it uses a d20 and a d6. You compare your number to a chart and a bonus modifier and get a score and that score reveals your success like D&D (a little different..same basic concept) 4)You mentioned Cards and Poker Chips?! What the Hell? : Yes, in addition to Dice you get a Hand of Cards and "Poker Chips" those cards let you help yourself, friends at the table, and generally alter the game world in new and interesting ways...it's not competitive...it's collaborating with your friends to gain another level of strategy above roll a dice and get a number. The Chips..well...they just allow you to soak damage and make your crappy rolls better What?! That's Cheating" You Say......nope...that's TORG. This is a game where you have the power to BEND Reality and Create Hopeful outcomes out of a nasty situation where our world is at the brink of collapse. This game can and should be a challenge....but in the end..the message is about Hope , which is honestly kinda cool. 5) "A Caped Crusader, an Elven Paladin, Bruce Willis, and a Cyber Ninja Walk into A Bar" : If This Joke HAD a punchline It would be the poor saps that would be knocked out on the floor. This game is the only game I know where you can have a lower powered super hero, cyber ninjas, a Bruce Willis "Die-Hard inspired" cop, and an elven paladin all in the same group and they are all balanced out with each other in terms of strengths and weaknesses....sure..they are all unique and inspired characters...but they won't overshadow each other. In fact....your not so average down on his luck cop can hold his own and contribute in awesome ways straight out of Hollywood Action Movies. Once upon a Time you sat down and played your first RPG (or maybe you haven't yet). It was kinda new, kinda scary and intimidating....I'm telling you that after 20+ years I still get that way with a new game or a new group. I'm not here to tell you I'm the best Storyteller out there. I do my best. I'm not horrible...but I'm not a Master. I screw up, my players screw up...it's fun, we laugh, we continue on. None of us are overly serious to the breaking of the game. It's about the fun and the camaraderie. In Closing, Yes I have a BAD ASS TORG: Eternity Group. If you wanna play I have 3 or 4 slots open and I'd love to talk to you. New and/or Experienced Players Welcome. It's every other Tuesday at 7pm Eastern US Time. I'd love if you gave us a chance, but if you don't....and you see this game in the store, and ANYTHING I said resonated with you...Pick it up and Try it out. There's great videos online of folks playing. There's awesome videos online that explain the various realities (Cosms).....You'll Love it. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/123063/torg-eternity Thank You Kindly and Happy Gaming To You All, Eric (Tamerath)
