[LFP+1] Tales From Innistrad (D&D 5e, Wednesdays@5 PM Pacific Weekly)

Hello everyone! Innistrad is currently in its second season and we are looking for a new player to fill a role that has opened up for the group. This character is an NPC that started out being a small part of the story but ended up joining the group for the final battle. She has a compelling story and I would very much like to find a player to take up the mantle of the character, embrace her, develop her, and be integrated as part of the group. I'll put the details on her below. Interested applicants should contact me directly with the provided format which I shall also be including below. Original characters will not be considered at this time for our campaign, right now I am looking for a player to fill the role of the character below.  She is a former NPC and has not yet been piloted by any other player. You aren't just picking up where someone else left off, but are being given a chance to make her your own. Inquisitor Kessa "Evil is out there. We must expunge it by any means necessary." Gender:  Female Alignment:  Lawful Good Background:  Inquisitor Class:  Fighter (Level 2) Home Region:  Gavony Kessa was born and raised within the village of Beryl, on the edge of the Moorlands of Gavony. An unassuming but profoundly faithful young girl, Kessa dutifully attended the Church of Avacyn and spent the rest of her time working in her father's tanning shop. Always a bit of a tomboy and having a no-nonsense attitude paired with a bright eyed optimism of the world, Kessa joined the Beryl Watch when she was just a teenager. Though the only woman to be in the Watch, Kessa performed her duties as best she could, training with various weapons (but favoring her sword) and on occasion even fighting horrors that emerged from the Moors of Gavony to threaten her home. Her life changed when waves of the undead began to pour forth from the Moors, as Beryl was assaulted again and again by hordes of zombies and ghouls. Kessa fought with the Watch as best she could, eventually taking over command as the Watch Captain was killed in a particularly bad battle. Kessa tried to organize the survivors as best as she could, and held out long enough for a group of Cathars from Thraben to arrive. They came to offer aid to Beryl, and soon discovered that there was a darker plot behind it all. While the Cathars struck out in the Moors to stop the source of the undead hordes, Kessa remained behind to defend Beryl as best she could. Yet as soon as the Cathars left, the demon cultists hiding amidst Beryl's population struck. The town had been quietly infiltrated by the Skirsdag, demon worshipers of the worst kind that took over the Beryl town hall and imprisoned the faithful townsfolk, gagging them so the people of Beryl could not pray and bring down the wrath of the angels upon them. Kessa refused to submit to demon worship and was tortured hideously for days in the Beryl town hall, listening to a witch whisper in her ear to accept a demon called The Herald as her master. Kessa's eyes were gouged out and she was beaten and starved, but she remained faithful, and as a result many of the men in the Watch who fought with her also remained steadfast. She might have died if the Cathars had not returned from the Moors of Gavony, having discovered not only the source of the undead hordes and put a stop to it, but the Skirsdag conspiracy having come to fruition in Beryl. Charging the town, the Cathars liberated Kessa and several other members of the Watch. After restoring her eyes with the aid of healing magic, Kessa and the other members of the surviving Watch joined them in a titanic battle as the Skirsdag finished summoning Malethrix the Herald. The clash between the demons and their fanatics, as well as the faithful of Avacyn, was a titanic battle...one that Kessa, sadly, did not survive. Yet an angel arrived as the battle was finished, drawn by both the destruction of Malethrix and the prayers of the faithful left in Beryl. Insira, Angel of the Dire Hour, restored Kessa's broken body with the Light of Avacyn for her steadfast faith in the angels. Kessa returned to full life, but her experiences had changed her - no longer the bright eyed, optimistic girl she'd been, Kessa had seen the face of evil and was determined that no one would ever suffer it again. She immediately petitioned the visiting members of the Avacynian Inquisition, Thrace and Ludwig, to join the Inquisition and spend her life in the pursuit of horrors who victimize innocent people. After several months of hard work and completing her training, Inquisitor Kessa joined with the Cathars to continue their hunt of the Skirsdag, and plots that far extended beyond the reach of the village of Beryl or even the region of Gavony. Name/Alias:   Joshua Age:   22 Gender:   Male D&D 5e Experience:   Lots. I've RPed for 8 years, did 5e since it came out, and had been an AL organizer for 2 years. Moved recently, and am trying to get back into the swing of things! Your Favorite Thing About Role-Playing:   The story. I like it when I can feel like a story has been created through the games. There is something really fun about a naive idealist level 1 become a wary and hardened level 20 hero. I've always wanted to write a story from a campaign, but I suck at being an author! What are your thoughts on Kessa, and why do you want to play her?: The character reminds me of Selene from Underworld. That character was strong and decisive, but also had an internal conflict between her personal values, and the values of her vampire kin. I would think that pre-torture, Kessa was something of a Joan D'Arc type: waving the battle flag in a holy war while still managing to keep her hands clean. Now that she is an inquisitor, I can imagine there is this new ethos of "by any means necessary." It would be fun to develop the character as a conflict between these very different personalities. Does she go full inquisitor, or does she return to the idealism? I've never done a pregenerated character like this before, but I think I have enough set-pieces for information that I can. Plus, the story has given me enough to work with that I'm excited to work with it!
