I want to start a new campaign. First, I'll lay out a few of the decisions that I've already made about this game, and then describe how we'll go from there to the final game concept. Second, I'll talk about the next steps for those that are interested. Here's where I am at this point. I want to run a D&D 5e game on Sunday evenings (pacific time). Because I don't own very many of the rule books, and can't justify the expense beyond the PHB (purchased through roll20), at the most I want to keep us to the rules in the PHB. Later we can talk about what we want and don't want to use in the core book, and we may find that the discussions about the game may further restrict us. Due to personal choice, available locations where I can run a game, and past experience this game will be run through text only. We will use the chat window available through the roll20 tabletop. There it is, that's it. From here, I'll host a session zero, where we can further discuss the game we want to play, and the game I want to create. You can expect this discussion to cover things like the genre and tone of the game, the setting, the style, and other important information specific to the mechanics and feel of the game. Since I'm going to put time into creating an adventure, I want to make sure that each of you are going to be invested and interested in what I make. We won't of course be creating specific encounters or anything in the session 0, and instead will talk in higher levels about what we all like or don't like within our games. So, the session 0 will be next Sunday at 7:00 pm Pacific Time. We can meet in a discord channel, and chat about what we want or enjoy in our games. From that discussion, I'll prepare a premise and send it to the players for their thoughts. If my premise excites you, we should expect the first game to start Oct. 7th. Timing of sessions, and the number of sessions per month will be discussed in the session 0 as well. I realize this is different than what most other games do, and you may not be interested in this concept. No worries, but if you think you'd enjoy working with me to create a fun game, please respond to this thread. I'll be reaching out via PM to those that express interest, and we'll get to know each other a bit better then.  A few things to consider before you post a response: 1. This is a Text Only Campaign 2. We'll use no more than the D&D 5e PHB 3. Character Creation will occur after we have our Session 0, and the game premise has been presented.  4. We will play some number of times per month (discussed later), on Sundays, and in the evening Pacific Time.
