[LFP] RP focused post apocalyptic game Sundays at 8pm EST

First and foremost, because I'm proud of it, here's a trailer I put together for the game With that bit of vanity out of the way, I'm looking for 2 more players to join an ongoing post apocalyptic game, that in tone is a mix of fallout and mad max with a dash of walking dead. We're a very RP focused group, but this is not a narrative focused game. It's run more like a sandbox simulation, in that the story that unfolds is not by anyone's design but a consequence of the characters interacting with each other and the world around them. For that story to be any good however it's important that the characters you create and portray be rich with potential, be capable of change and have some semblance of depth. Because this game will be all about telling their story. You will not be playing regular people, but "enhanced" individuals from before the nuclear apocalypse, cryogenically preserved. This way you characters can discover this new world along with you, the players. Despite the sci-fi and paranormal elements being part of the setting and your characters, we're still aiming for a very grounded dare I say "realistic" take on things. The game will be run in GURPS and though it is a crunchy system, I run it in a very beginner friendly way. That being said, it is a brutal system that does "realism" quite well... which means combat is deadly and not something you should engage in frequently. When one lucky shot could end your character's story, it's best not to tempt fate... if you must fight, it's best to take out your enemies before they ever get a chance to shoot at you. This is a dangerous and violent world, but I wouldn't say it's a combat focused game. You are free to solve your problems in whichever way you see fit and I very much encourage avoiding violence whenever possible, because it's always dangerous and could spell the end of your character. If you'd like to know more here's the game's original listing The kind of player I'm looking for is someone who likes to take their RP seriously, has a good sense of humor out of character and who knows the difference. If this sounds at all like you and if you're interested in the game as described then please leave a reply here.
I'd be very interested in playing. I have been looking for a post-apocalyptic game played during times I'm available and this checks both marks. I have never played GURPS, but I have some of the books and have been wanting to give it a try. Most of my experience is in D&D 5e and Pathfinder, but I've also played Shadowrun, CoC, MnM, and a handful of other systems.
Howdy. I think this looks like a pretty interesting game. I will ask though, as I see there's not been an updated game time in four weeks and you're down two spots, what prompted those players to leave and/or be removed?
@Thunderpig sending you a private message :) @Jay The first player we knew was going to leave from the start because of scheduling, he had a window in which he could join us and I was perfectly happy continuing with 4 after that... The second player turned out to have a very different playstyle to what was on offer here. We knew early on, but we decided to give it a shot and see if things would work out. They did not. It was all very amicable and drama free. At the same time as all of this a third player, felt his character was ill suited and offered to make one more appropriate providing the perfect window to bring in new players. with 3 new characters it'll feel like a fresh start, but we'll maintain the story via the 2 original characters that remain. We're around 12 sessions into the game... but in terms of in-game days passed, it's nearly one to one. So it's not like they have adjusted fully to the world they woke up to.
