Call of Cthulhu 7th edition game LFP

February 1937, New York City. As the grip of the great depression still has its steely grasp secured tightly around the throats of most, the big apple is in the midst of one of the coldest winters in recent memory. With the numbers of homeless and destitute citizens at an all-time high, the frigid temperatures are claiming dozens of lives on a nightly basis. The cold is not the only threat to plague the city that never sleeps. For the last 13 months, a serial killer has been terrorizing the city. Dubbed the Son of Dracula by the papers as the killer leaves their victims drained of blood. With over a dozen victims and climbing the police don't seem to be any closer to making a collar.  Across the ocean, the drums of war are slowly beating as Europe seems to be on the verge of a massive conflict. A new party is starting to rise to power with an incendiary message. Dark times are brewing. Your peaceful slumber is broken by the sound of a ringing telephone. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey folks! As you could tell by the post thread I am looking to get a Call of Cthulhu 7th edition game going. I am looking for 4-5 players that are willing to dive into their characters and truly bring them to life. I would like to eventually have this game become a podcast or perhaps even a live play so potential players should keep that in mind. While I will be using a few rules from Pulp Cthulhu, this game will still use most of the normal rules as is. This game is going to take place once every two weeks (I run a few other games and want to have time to prepare sufficiently for all of them) although the day/time is up in the air. Currently, I am looking to run it on Weds @ 9 pm EST/EDT or Thurs starting between 1-2 pm EST/EDT all depending on the player base that I gather. Player Name: jack Experience with Call of Cthulhu: i been playing some call of cthulhu few weeks. while i haven't played for long time it doesn't mean i will not put everything i have in the game to make fun for others while playing. Experience with Roll20 : been using roll20 for few mouth now so have some experience with it but i never use the voice chat before, i mostly use discord for that. What do you enjoy most about RPG's? : the random thing's that happen with playing with people, it always fun to see and hear what other players are doing. Available Days : i'm free on wednesay, monday, friday, and tuesday What are some of your strengths as a player? i try my best in solving problems my it be anything. i don't mean by punching the problem. What are some of your weaknesses as a player? i have sometime have hard time thinking of backstory for my character . What draws you to Call of Cthulhu: the setting and the mystery of the game Character Name : john samuel Character Concept: a retire cop that does freelance detective work to honor his dead partner ( i know it not that good and it has been done before. sorry) If you were a hotdog and you were starving, would you eat yourself? yes

In case it is scaring people off, this is a game for players of all experience level. All that is really required is a passion for the game and your character so don't let being new to the system detract you from applying. I have experience working with players of all experience levels and have no qualms teaching people as long as they are willing to put in a little effort as well (it is a two way street).

Player Name: Kris Experience with Call of Cthulhu: None Experience with Roll20 : A decent amount, few hundred hours or so.  What do you enjoy most about RPG's? : I like to be able to fall into a world, and just be completely immersed into it. Available Days : Which of the two potential days work for you? Thursday, Saturday  What are some of your strengths as a player?  Always enthusiastic about playing, heavily invested in my characters, like to learn about the game itself, enjoy trying new things, like to added voices if warranted. What are some of your weaknesses as a player?  Become too invested (ha). Wanting to play constantly. Can sometimes be swayed into things by the party.  What draws you to Call of Cthulhu:  Im really not well versed in the Lovecraft universe, but I enjoy its themes, and I am always interested in learning new games, especially after checking out a small intro video about this on youtube. I really enjoy roleplaying and investigating as well, so this kind of seems up my alley a bit.  Character Name : Augustine Valentino, Sebastian Cross, Hezekiah Jurado, Bishop Archeletta   (usually use one of those for my games)    Character Concept: Im not sure of the occupations, but since this would be set in the 30's, itd be interesting to be working for the mob, maybe a bouncer for a club, a pusher, a shylock, or maybe just someone who runs numbers. Not sure honestly, as I may look at the list, and completely change my mind.  If you were a hotdog and you were starving, would you eat yourself? Bold question, but I honestly dont think so. For one, Id be afraid that as soon as Id start eating I couldnt stop, or maybe I would develop an irresistible urge to eat other hotdogs, have to go lurking in the night, hunting for unsuspecting and/or vulnerable hotdogs.. I feel like Id have little to no self control as a hotdog, and no one wants to see that. 

Player Name: Garrett Experience with Call of Cthulhu: Read up on the 7th Edition. Played my first campaign (a one-shot) last week. Experience with Roll20: Had played with it once with a Call of Cthulhu one-shot campaign. What do you enjoy most about RPG's?: The roleplaying aspect.  It's like acting for theater or television. Available Days: Which of the two potential days work for you? Wednesday. What are some of your strengths as a player? Do you create voices for your character, get emotionally invested in them, great a riddles etc . I created whole stories and personalities for my character. I make voices for my character, too. (Disclaimer: I never took acting class so of course it will be amatuer). I am also a team player. I want to help everyone (unless the story or character themselves convinces me not to). What are some of your weaknesses as a player? Do you have a hard time getting into character or hate riddles etc. Getting really involved in the game. People mention I speak a lot when roleplaying and try to lead decisions. What draws you to Call of Cthulhu: The survival aspect of it, on top of solving supernatural mysteries that a various degree in danger Character Name: Otis Ruferford Character Concept: Family physician with a hobby of reading scientific journals and attending lectures. Very interested in science, especially with learning new fields outside of medicine. Might be asking for trouble if he stumbles across an unusual lecture presentation or journal article about the 'unknown'. If you were a hotdog and you were starving, would you eat yourself? Yes but I'd eat only my buns.

A little 6E. Read all the HP Lovecraft stories. Experience with Roll20 : A great deal. Run games frequently. What do you enjoy most about RPG's? : Fun, relaxing, social activity.  Available Days : Which of the two potential days work for you? Unfortunately at the moment neither. But hope to be a backup in case my schedule opens or the game shifts. What are some of your strengths as a player?  Voices, immersion, but also totally fine with beer and pretzels casual style (esp. after a crappy work day.) What are some of your weaknesses as a player?  Not really fond of railroads.  Choo choo not my thing.  What draws you to Call of Cthulhu: The rich Mythos and how this game tends to attract superior players.  Character Name : Hardesty Mortimer Daikrisi Character Concept:  Open (homeless drifter, disillusioned fed, withdrawn scientist excited to be in the field for the first time, skeptical reporter, medical examiner, paranoid survivalist, conspiracy theorist, pretty much anything and anyone who can get caught up in things better left alone.) If you were a hotdog and you were starving, would you eat yourself?  I prefer to talk the other hotdogs into giving themselves up first. But since you are what you eat...then if all else fails of course.

Player Name: Pengers Experience with Call of Cthulhu: Only read some of the rulebook. Never got a chance to find a game since it is so rarely played. Would be willing to read the whole book in my spare time. Experience with Roll20 : Played a couple of 5E campaigns, some 12 candles one shots, and a nWoD campaign a bit.  What do you enjoy most about RPG's? : The roleplaying aspect. You get to collaborate with a group of people to create your own unique story. Everybody brings their own piece to the puzzle and the results are a load of fun. The acting, the creativity and imagination, it's all pretty sweet. Available Days : Both days work for me. Wednesday preferred only because that means I don't have to set my alarm clock :).   What are some of your strengths as a player?  I enjoy going into the game with a character with a backstory and working with other players so that we can conjure up something fun and special. I am a complete team player and put the overall objective of making sure everybody is having a good time over all else. What are some of your weaknesses as a player?  I'm not the best at voice work as I just have my own unique accent and just overly exaggerated voices. And I'm still new to this whole RPG thing so I'm not the strongest at it. What draws you to Call of Cthulhu: It's freaking Call of Cthulhu! Some of the best mythos out there. The brooding, psychological, and cosmic horror of it is like nothing else. Attach a gaming system to that lore and what else do you need?  Character Name : Mickey Kalansky Character Concept: A bartender in a seedy hole-in-the-wall in the lower east-side. His customers tend to be the sleazeballs, hustlers, and lower ranked gangsters of the underground world. Overhearing all sorts of information that would make a copper salivate, he keeps his lips tight because this is his clientele and they feel safe, which just means more money for him. Who cares if the beer is warm? However when some of the nastiest guys there start talking in hushed whispers, glancing side to side, about some sort of psychopath out there on the streets, he gets very interested. In fact, is that why he seems to see fewer and fewer of this regulars as the days go on? If you were a hotdog and you were starving, would you eat yourself? That is a difficult question. Once you begin, what guarantees that you will not stop? Even if you chew off just a bit, you'll look at your disfigured self in the mirror knowing that it was at your own hand. It'll drive you mad and you'll just finish the rest off.
