[LF1M][5e][Discord] Tomb of Annihilation Tuesdays at 6:30pm EST

DM here, been running Tomb of Annihilation weekly since late April. Voice is over Discord, Roll20 for the rest. We're about halfway through the campaign, players are at level 6 and one of my players had to drop out. This game values RP and storytelling over combat, though combat encounters are still very much a part of the game. I'm looking for one more (maybe two if you're a package deal) to join our game at level 6. This is perfect if you started the campaign but didn't get to finish.   I'm not taking character pitches right now, I just want to know about you, how long have you been playing D&D, what's your playstyle, what kinds of characters have you played before, etc? If I think you are a good fit, then I would ask that you be available to chat over discord about specifics of the game.
Hey! My name's Gabe, I'm a 30 year old barman in Chicago. I've been itching to getting back to playing D&D for like 6 months now. Really looking forward to getting back into a social hobby that I can laugh and have fun with friends that's outside the bar world. One that fulfills the creative and imaginative parts of my soul. A little about me: I was a philosophy major in college. I dropped out to play poker professionally and moved to Las Vegas. After a few years of doing that successfully I moved all over and began working as a bartender and that's where I find myself now. I think that pie trumps cake. I prefer my encased meats in tubular form (down with puck shape sausage). I think the coolest sounding language is Portuguese. Ketchup on hot dogs is an abomination, and while were at it hot dogs are definitely *not* sandwiches. I haven't played DnD since my early teen years in which I played several year+ long campaigns with my friends. For two of the campaigns I played a half elf lawful good paladin and one campaign playing a neutral good human barbarian. I suspect my play style will be lighthearted while still taking serious moments with weight and consideration. I would like to stay in character as much as possible while laughing and smiling IRL at the same time. Even though it's been a long time since I've played I'm caught up on 5e rules and have listened to several actual play podcasts. I've also been playing games my whole life and suspect that I won't bog the game down at all from that end. Thanks for the time! Cheers.
