This is essentially a repeat of my LFG ad in my game description, but I don't see it popping up here, so I'm going to repost :) Please forgive if it's incorrect. https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/6861964/incidental-heroics-looking-for-2-new-players/ Campaign Beginning was May 2017 Game: D&D 3.5 RSRD (modified) Frequency: Weekly with a forgiving attendance policy. We play every Thursday night starting at 8 PM EST for three hours. We are pretty strict about an end time so ask people to be as punctual as possible to start. Current Roster: We have several players who are on semi-permanent hiatus. Because of this it might look like there are more players than there are. We regularly get 4 players sometimes 5 to play each game, and would like more to show up each session. Player requirements are: Must have voice through Discord Must be inclusive of all ages, genders, sexual orientations. Must be an adult (18+) Must not be a gamer-gater, fascist, transphobe, homophobe, misogynist or jerk. Must be OK with the X-card Must be OK with mature themes including sex & sexuality (this is not a sex or romance game, but those topics do tend to come up) The focus of this game is story, characters, plot with occasional bouts of strategy & tactics combat. This game is based in a very old campaign milieu I've been developing my entire life; the legends and lore you hear about in the game frequently reflects the actions of past player characters. I take a sandbox approach, allowing players to guide the story with little to no railroading. The goal is to create a story collaboratively using the familiarity of D&D 3.5 instead of using story game mechanics such as Dungeon World, etc. A lot of folks don't know those systems and D&D 3.5 is more familiar to them. The basic concept of this campaign is that the players are mercenaries who were originally hired for a job and then became incidental heroes. Every player begins as a mercenary who gets hired on to the company (party) and that provides means and motivation to stay together. The character begins at equal level to the rest of the party (they are all at level 9 now). There is a worldwide network of mercenary guilds to help provide jobs for needy mercenaries. The group has so far discovered an ancient Elven-Dwarven city and uncovered its many secrets, then went to join a Dwarven underground political movement to fight against an oppressive and tyrannical government. About the DM: I've been playing D&D since I was 8, and I'm 51 now. I am a game designer and writer - you may have heard about Changeling The Dreaming or Wraith the Oblivion? I co-wrote and co-designed those games. I am playing D&D because it is a game for which I can readily find players. Thank you for your interest and I look forward to chatting with you about your possible participation!
