Listen up soldier, I only have time to say this once. We're shipping out on 10 Nov 2018 at 1900 hours. You and your squad have been in the shit before, but nothing like this. It seems like the whole army is preparing to pounce on the A Shau Valley in what they're calling Operation Apache Snow. But you and yours? Way out in the boonies babysitting a road no one's watching. You weren't trained for this kind of long range recon, but it's the straw you drew - or was drawn for you, more like. Now you've got to make the long hump back home, watching your six, hoping not to step on landmines or pit traps, trying not to die from the boredom, or the heat. But there are worse fates than Charlie's traps out there in the jungle waiting for you. Worse fates than a painful death in a pointless war. This is a one-off scenario written for convention play. We'll be using Discord for voice. I'm running this for Aethercon VII, a free, non-profit, online gaming convention. In order to play you need to sign up on their site and register for 'tickets' to the table. Once you do that you'll be given the game link. This is my third year running a game for Aethercon - it's a good excuse to play a fun game with strangers, and there's a chance to win some free RPG books and things. New CoC players welcome - we won't get into anything too deep here, but there will probably be more combat than your average investigation (arming everyone with automatic weapons tends to do that, go figure). Everything you'll need to know fits in about 8 pages of a free Quick Start PDF. There will be pre-generated character provided. The scenario should run about 4-5 hours. Feel free to hit me up with any other questions you have, either here, or on the campaign forum if you've already signed up!
