Hey, all. I played a lot of AD&D in high school, then again (briefly) about a decade later. I'm looking to get back into roleplaying, and have been intrigued by some of the newer, story-driven systems that are out now (e.g., Numenera, FATE and its derivatives, etc.). I'm currently involved with a gaming group of old friends, currently running Gamma World (1992 edition)--with a Shadowrun 5e campaign on deck when GW ends. So far, the guys in the group have shown little interest in any of the newer, simpler rule systems ("they're just not realistic," "removing all the details and customization makes for boring, watered down, homogenized characters," "Good GMs don't NEED intrusions, compels or whatever to tell a story. I don't like the idea of forcing my players to do things because I'm too lazy to adjust my storyline to compensate for their creativity." That sort of thing.). And, without playing, I can't really sell them on the merits. Yanno? The long and the short of it is: I'm looking for a group to get involved with, to learn and enjoy the system under a GM who enjoys it, understands it's nuances, and who is willing to take in a newbie and show him the ropes. Days: Sunday-Wednesday, evenings (starting ideally 4:30-5PM, UTC-8) Frequency: can start as a one-off, or regular gig if the group and I gel, and everyone wants to carry onward. Let me know! Thanks, C.
