The dead started to rise, some in the forms of the animate dead, others were vampires, others still were ghosts and there were rumours of demons as well. They took the world by storm and the next century was one of struggle, death and a quickly fading hope. London had been lost. Then they appeared. The supernormals. They had abilities no human should have, some could compel the ghosts, others had mastered the arts arcane, some could fly and some could control the very elements themselves. No one knows what caused them and while several doctors think they might hold the secret to immortality or the cure to the plague, everyone else was just happy that they were able to take London back from the animate dead. Now in this modern day, society has not changed much. The dead still plague humanity but we've survived, we are slowly winning this war and man kind will go on fighting. Several organisations and rules have had to be enforced but it is all for the best. There is the mourners guild, made of 90% women, clad all in mourning gear, silent masters of death who guard the aristocrats and stop their bodies from rising from the graves. The undertakers, bounty hunters of the dead. None but these are crazy enough and foolish enough to brave the tunnels beneath London, but they do it on a nighty basis, some of them even come back alive all for the chance to catch their prey and earn a few shillings in payment. Then there are the Supernormal guilds. Guilds of heroes, dedicated to saving the people of london, fighting crime and injustice. To be a member of one of these is to be a person of respect. But you always have to be careful, the supernormals are different and as such they are only given as much leeway as the public allows. ........................................................................................ a bit about the city The setting is Neo-Victorian Magic and supernormals and the supernatural is known of though most people have no dealings with any of it. Except of course for the animate attacks. Ghosts and demons are known to exist but as for gods, no one has been proven to exist (except for the eldritch kind). An excorcist of the catholic church is just as capable as a excorcist of the buddhist faith, there are even rumours of atheist excorcists. Technology is at a steampunk level. London has 3 main areas one is the normal streets of london the second is the underground, old subway tunnels and buildings and what have you, home to the monsters and the some-what sentient ghoul communities. the third is the echoes. These are little pocket dimensions that show past times, warped a little bit by the presence of the plague, what you see in an echo may be slightly different than what happened. .............................................................. So that's all of that. Now about applications. First of all while i don't plan on going too dark due to the setting this will be an 18+ game just to be on the safe side. The characters will be starting off as a part of their very own Supernormal guild, PL 8 with 150 Power Points If you wish to apply then please provide a character concept, both powers and about who they are as a person. Several hundred lines aren't required but id like more than 'he is very strong' The immortality power is banned by the way Also please keep in mind magic does exist but there are no archmages who can do everything, if you use magic apply a theme to it and tell me what it is . e.g. cantrips, time magic, elemental magic, etc etc If you wish to be able to do lots of different types, well thats what the ritualist advantage is for. Any questions feel free to ask Lastly the time may change by an hour in either direction due to daylight savings. For Characters we have A Supernatural Detective, looking for his wife's killer An unaging roman centurion a mad scientist who likes to tinker with clockwork constructions Game is only two sessions in so theres no catch up required
