Make snap to grid reversable as a global option (alt to snap)

Hi, I would really like to have snap to grid be a global option. With this enabled I imagine that: 1. Monsters can be freely sized and retain their correct proportion without having to hold alt. 2. Default behavior is no snap and tokens can be freely moved. 3. We can hold the alt key to force a snap. Totally optional. We played on a table for 30+ years without snapping. 4. As a bonus, the ability to "lock" a tokens size so it does not accidentally get resized after being set (no grabbies except for facing). Yes, I can place an overlay of a grid on my map but then I lose all the nice alignment features between maps and resizing could become fussy. This is really about retaining the grid overlay functionality of the program while discarding the snap and all the token woes that go with it. Thanks, Chris

I agree completely. I'd like to show the grid for reference, but not require snap-to-grid unless alt is pressed. And ++ votes for #4.... a way to lock token size would really help. Maybe token size locked unless you press CTRL? Thanks!

I'm on board for this. Would be great tool and offer better map control.

Regarding token size, I think the re-sizing is only for the DM. For the Players the sizing handles do not appear, only the rotate handle appears. I can see the problem for the DM (and I agree a Token Size Lock would be a nice solution), just letting you know that I think it doesn't appear as troublesome to the players' view, in case you were always logged in as a DM seeing that issue. Thanks for the reminder of the ALT key as a way to NOT snap a token you're moving, when grid is showing.
I think as big an issue for me is just the change in aspect ratio.. I really want to lock that so tokens don't change proportion when dragged to the map... Which is definitely a gm thing.
+1 It feels more like a real table if tokens don't snap to the grid, although I'd want to keep the utility of rulers snapping.
+1 This is one of the only issues that would drive me back to MapTools. Make snap more easy to disable please.
