The bug-themed criminal attacked the city bank with the apparent motive of simple robbery but could not resist assaulting the staff. He sent two members of the management staff to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.                 Stinger escaped with nearly half a million dollars.   Local News Lazer on The Run? Who is He Running From? (New York, New York City) The roar of a jet pack broke the early morning dark of Hunts Point, that and the crackle of laser beams being fired. The villain Lazer was flying through the area firing blindly behind him as the hurtled down blind alleys and narrow streets. He blasted out over the ocean and disappeared in the concealing darkness of night.   World News Mount Conchagua Erupts (El Salvador, Conchagua) The long dormant volcano of Mount Conchagua roared to life in a sudden explosion of smoke and magma. The 30 thousand inhabitants of the region were caught unprepared and are in mortal danger. Contact with the ship was lost two days ago. Embassy Cruise Line alerted the maritime authorities to be on the look out for the missing cruise ship.                 The mystery ended shortly after 4PM when the twenty-five children passengers of the Dream Voyager were deposited near the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal by a gigantic wave. The children were emotionally distraught, some in a state of shock, but were not physically injured. Along with the children was a message, “The oceans of this world belong to us. Use them at your peril.” The message was signed Koriel.                 Koriel is a terrorist from the undersea city-state of Lyonesse. The children from ship witnessed Koriel and her followers murder the 2500 passengers and 800 crew who were on board. The only thing that prevented a total loss of life is that Koriel has a prohibition against harming children.     Local News Robot Attack On Judgment’s Garage (New York, New York City) In an event that harkens back to the days before the Exodus a giant robot attacked the home and business of Judgment. The robot was defeated by a quartet of yet-to-be identified super heroes that included both The Crimson Knight and Mighty Girl. Does New York have a new super team to replace the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, or Justice League? What is known is that Judgment was the target of the attack was not home and did not take part in the defense. The robot itself did not have any resemblance to the robots used by Genocide. Lt. House commander of PART (Paranormal Alert Response Team) suggests that it was an isolated incident and there is no reason to expect that this good Samaritans will appear together again. “We were lucky they were in the neighborhood and that is the extent of it. These…people have their own lives to deal with and can not be expected to drop everything and rush to the rescue every time a cat gets stuck in a tree. It is the mission of PART to protect this city and its people from metahuman threats and PART is up to the job.”   Brooklyn Strip Club Massacre (New York, New York City) At least a dozen mutilated bodies were discovered at the Boom-Boom Room strip club. The police are not releasing details on the carnage found there but sources inside NYPD claim the bodies of 10 men and two women were found, apparent victims of vicious animal attacks. The victims have not yet been completely identified but none seem to have been the dancers that were performing there.   World News Russian Space Station In Peril (Russia, Korolev)                 The Russian space agency launched the first module in what was to be a superior version of the International Space Station (ISS). Initially the launch seemed to be a spectacular success but an hour into the mission problems occurred.                 An emergency call was made from the orbiter, life support, primary and secondary, had failed. The Cosmonauts vital signs were monitored from mission control while rescue scenarios were evaluated. Before a workable solution was determined both cosmonauts had perished.                 The orbiter and its multi-ton payload are in a decaying orbit above the Earth. The best minds on earth are trying to determine where the ship will return to Earth. Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, has reported that the space station component has at its core a small fissionable core. This was to power the new space station for a minimum of ten years but now poses a significant safety hazard to anyone to approaches the crash.                 Russian teams are being place in rapid response areas in order to be deployed to any corner of the globe at a moments notice to deal with the cleanup of the wreckage if it should crash should make landfall. The best case scenario would be a deep water splashdown.
