Curse of Strahd is showing an update that concerns the spellcaster NPCs, I am just curious if it is at all risky to update given I've made a large number of changes to the module. I wouldn't want any of my work undone or other settings changed just from an update. Thanks.

You can make a copy of your game, run the update on that, and then review it and see if your changes are intact.

It's hard to say if the patch will affect your modifications without knowing what those modifications are. The overview of the patching process is here in the wiki , but Rabulias' advice is the safest route if you are at all concerned.

You can probably also do a rollback (you are a pro subscriber) if it changes to much for your game.
