Master of Dungeons Sought! Hear ye! Hear ye! All purveyors of story, myth and legend! Objective : Two (with possibly a third) friends are looking for a dungeon master that can make a campaign where our character concepts work. We're both adults (mid-to-late 20s) with years of experience in a number of systems. I myself have been a gamemaster many times over the years and a few years ago had to hang up the GM hat. As players we get along well and have some solid banter in-character. Our styles play well off each other and most importantly, we are focused , interested , and get along . Recently we have had an excellent DM running us through Dragon Heist, which has shown us that D&D can actually be as fun as some of the more narrative systems we enjoy, he is just unable to run a full non-module campaign due to his schedule (bless him). What We Want : Ideally we would like a game in D&D5e, Stars Without Number, or RuneQuest 6e. My friend enjoys playing necromancers/psionics, while I really enjoy playing charismatic, asset-focused rogues. We especially enjoy games with some sandbox elements, allowing us to choose (or the illusion of choosing) our goals and methods. Property ownership, training apprentices, etc. In addition to a friendly GM with a good attitude, over the age of 21, we would like to have a long-term campaign, but we're OK with feeling out a GM via one-shots and would really like to sit down in voice chat to talk to a GM before we commit or waste that GM's time. We value other people's time, as well as our own, and thus want to ensure all parties are on the same page. Mechanically, maps are not fully necesary. We are both experienced at "theater of the mind", as well as using artwork / pictures to convey atmosphere and mood. We don't even require lighting or special effects common on Roll20, so if that's not your specialty, or you're just not feeling it that day, that's OK! What We Don't Want : We've each had a lot of bad experience on Roll20 with some crazies. We're both older players who are looking for something sane, fun and drama-free (except in-game of course!) that allows us all to enjoy our hobby. Also, any GM that wants to force a party on us. We're 2-3 people that have played together before and do not at all like parties 5 or above in number. We respect people's right to run/play in large groups, but that's not for us (hence this post). About Us : As I said we're older and we get along well. We often joke in our existing games, even taking little jabs at each other out of character. In-character we keep the internal conflicts to a minimum to ensure narrative flow and our characters generally know each other to make things easier on everyone. We have our own specific playstyles which blend well and support each other, some aspects of which make it harder to find a group. I'm 29 and the other main player is 27. We are in the United States (Central Time and Eastern Time). Further details can be discussed over Discord voice chat. Please feel free to drop by there, as it will generally be faster, but I do check my PMs here fairly often. Discord: [Discord link snipped] As evidenced above and in the very cordial reply below by the world-class customer service of Roll20, we are not allowed to post Discord links. Don't be dismayed or concerned, please feel free to PM me to discuss details.
