Greetings, For the past year or so I have been
running my D&D Path to Glory campaigns for new players and I have
had a fantastic response. At this time I am getting ready to start the next table and I'm opening it up to anyone who is interested in learning to play 4th edition D&D and/or tabletop in general. If you
have ever wanted to get into tabletop games this is the campaign for you. Please review the information below and
respond. I will be making a table of 4 players (and myself as DM) and the seats will go
to the first people that confirm they meet the requirements and can
play. Requirements.
1) You cannot have played D&D 4th before (preferable never played a
tabletop before). This game will be specifically to teach new players
how to play tabletop, and I have found this works best when everyone
(besides the DM) are on the same level. 2) When
gaming on roll20 I want to be able to talk with the group and
the group needs to be able to talk back. Text based
conversations
are too slow and cumbersome on the DM
when trying to teach new players. For this reason, you must have
Skype and a microphone to participate in this game (video is not required). The built in roll20 audio never seems to cooperate with
everyone in the group, so skype will be used instead. 3) I live in Eastern Standard Time (EST) and I will
be
running the
campaign on Saturday mornings or early afternoons. There is some wiggle room on the exact time but it will be a 4 hour time slot between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The first
session will be one week from today (3/8/2014) and there will be two more play
session on each of the following Saturdays. Please confirm that you can play
all three play sessions. What you can expect for this campaign
This will be a fun, light-hearted introduction to the world of
tabletop gaming. The first session of the campaign will be character
generation and an introduction battle to learn the basic mechanics. No
per-generated characters, we are going to learn how to play the game from scratch.
From there I will have a two-session home brewed mini-campaign with
these characters. This campaign will have no specific setting and thus no
lore that needs to be studied. The campaign should give all the players a
good feel for the game and have a chance to see all it offers.
Finally, if you own a digital or hard copy of the D&D 4th edition
Players Handbook, great you will need it. If you do not, I will supply
what you need so you do not have to spend money on something that might
not be your cup of tea.
Let me know if you are interested and I will PM you further details. I look forward to seeing you at the table!
