Long Ago... ===== Ships from an Earth long forgotten arrived in this place, this expanse of stars and unfamiliar worlds. They were not empty however, aliens that were unlike us waited on the rich soil of these planets. Some were welcoming of our kinds, others were hostile and fought us off at every turn. We quickly learned which planets we could settle on, and which led to more losses than we could handle. Technology soared with access to these new resources, we developed ships, from small fighters, agile and sleek, to massive colony ships like the kinds we came to the sector on, many miles long and capable of sustaining life for centuries at a time. We developed the Spike Drive, able to move from system to system in a manner of days rather than the months that it took before. It became clear quickly that there was not enough space on the few planets that humanity had settled on or terraformed, but the aliens were not going to accept us encroaching on their land. We are not the ones that struck first, but as is often the case with humanity throughout history, we struck the final blow. We pushed the aliens from Nal'Seeta Phi, and while there are rumors that they still exist in the dark corners of the sector, but not enough to launch any sort of offensive against humanity. We began to build, and humanity thrived. Now ===== It's been centuries now since the last offensive against the aliens, humanity has grown used to their position in Nal'Seeta Phi, and over the years, empires rose and fell. Some still exist in some form that is recognizable, such as the Yget-Sol, a religious cult that believe in a sun that exists in the center of the universe and will do anything to find it. They still preach on their planets, and a following exists at least in part in every system. Some have changed beyond anything believable, such as The Transversal Corporation. A wealthy media company that was created by the remnants of a fallen, war-thirsty empire that had dominion over almost the entire sector with the help of a hostile Artificial Intelligence that now provides entertainment and news all across Nal'Seeta Phi. Humanity has evolved as well. The discovery of Metadimensional Extroversion Syndrome (MES) has shown our ability to grow and develop these incredible powers, though many lives and minds have been lost before the Psionic Academies began to teach, research and treat those who suffer from MES. Nowadays, the sector has everything one could want, authorities investigating the many injustices on numerous planets, archaeologists who seek long-lost alien artifacts, transportation of goods both legitimate and illicit, or simply good old fashion piracy. For now, for a reason, whether mistaken, motivated, legitimate or forgotten, you are locked in a cell with others like you, and are looking to escape. Welcome to Nal'Seeta Phi. ---- Thanks for reading! I'm Stewart, the Space Master for this particular game. I'm looking for a group of players who want to play a fun space game with me. There's more details on the Looking For Group page above, as well as a thread for any questions. Here, I'll just say that I have a zero tolerance policy for discrimination of any kind, and want to make my table a safe and inclusive space.
Player Testimonials: "Stewart is one of the best storytellers I’ve ever had the joy of playing with. The level of customization in his games is amazing, whether it be custom magic items or integrating character backstories in the overall story arc. He creates fascinating worlds and deep storylines, filled with a rich cast of NPCs and events that unfold behind the scenes even if the party isn’t paying attention to them. I’ve laughed and I’ve cried, oftentimes minutes apart. In addition to our long-term game, he’s run some of the best one-shots I’ve ever played. If you like deep, story-driven games with lots of opportunity for both joy and drama, I can’t recommend him enough." - Erin, A player of a year and a half
