I've taken the Armor as DR variant rules, and made a few twists which I think add some authenticity. It is my opinion that neither the normal AC system, nor the Armor as DR variant rules pin things down quite right. In both cases, I feel the systems only consider one side of the equation: the armor. They both ignore the difference it would make based off of what weapon is being used against the target. Anyone interested in helping test my take on this? (Work in progress) I'd like to play test a work in progress, and see what people think. When: 6 March 2014, at 1800 Mountain Time (GMC -7) Who: 4 players I select. This will not be first come first serve . Post or send me a PM with a proposed character sheet. Character: Pick any melee class character (not interested in magic yet for this play test), make them level 4 with 20 point stat buy, and buy equipment with level appropriate gold (6,000 gp). Rules: here's a link to my work in progress for variant rules: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuIRJ... The second sheet has the formulae I want to test out. Alternatively, I will provide some premade characters - either Shielded Fighter or a Polearm Master.
