Hello everyone :) I'll get right to the important short and sweet stuff first. Time: Weekly on Wednesdays, 7pm GMT+1 for about 5 hours (breaks as needed) Software: Acceptable mic (no snowstorms, no robot voices) required, we tend to use Skype because roll20 or Discord have proven themselves unreliable at best. The GM will have a webcam but it is by no means required of the players. System: A potential name would be FateFUl Dungeonwheel, as it combines aspects from those systems. :) Its a 2d6 narrative-focused system, meaning combat is cinematic, every roll causes story development and there are no classes but instead player-defined concepts with group-defined power levels and limitations. This makes character creation especially very collaborative and sometimes overenthusiastic people need to be reined in a little bit after a few sessions ;) However it does also allow for an immense amount of freedom. Want to be a druid that shapeshifts into any animal? Sure! Want to be a Charlatan with some caster abilities? Why not? All it needs is to make narrative and collaborative sense. Plus, it's very easy to learn and play, promise :) Players: We are looking for 2-3 additional players (so we will have 4-5 overall for campaign start, me not included) who are active, reliable and 18+. Newcomers to the hobby are welcome as long as they take the group, me as the GM & the game itself seriously. The characters should be - for one reason or another - interested in sel-preservation and exploration that's necessary for survival. GM-Style: I definitely tend to go to the gritty side of things. I love it when characters are in over their heads and have to use their wits, teamwork and communication in order to figure things out (and, hopefully, survive). Given this, I like consequences, and this in particular is a harsh game where the odds are against the group - at least in the beginning. I can not stress this enough. Please make sure you are fine with your character or npcs suffering (or succeeding) due to their choices (or the choices of others) in-game. That said, I also love questions and working together to solve a problem (f.e. if one character feels too strong or overbearing compared to the others). I demand some level of interactivity from my players and their characters (no lone wolfs), they should have their own goals but whelp, they need the rest of the party to help them so how can they achieve that? :) The pitch, so to speak: A storm, a shipwreck, a 'new world' discovered. A basic village is soon established and some suicidal/brave people go out into the wilderness on this new frontier - discovering that actually, it is quite dangerous. Too dangerous. Adventurers are incredibly rare in this world, most people really just want to be the baker, the priest, the shopkeeper. why risk your life for what almost amounts to nothing in return, surely? Adventuring is not a common or safe profession (you are literally considered slightly insane by most people), so the player characters are the only ones interested (or forced to via banishment) in risking their lifes in the wilderness in hopes of making a fortune. Between sorties into the wilds PCs rest up, trade info, maybe help build up the village as their base of operations and plan their next foray. There was a party of people here before you arrived... but they never came back, their only legacy being this village, some rumors and knowledge of nearby landmarks. PCs get to explore anywhere they want in this new land, the only rule being that going back to civilized lands is off-limits — there are no adventures there, just peaceful retirement. The environment is dangerous. Very dangerous. PCs have to work together, observe closely and change strategies or they are going to get creamed. They also have to think and pick their battles - since they can go anywhere, there is nothing stopping them from strolling into areas that will wipe them out. ---- Contact me here, via pm or make a post in our listing if you are interested in this kind of campaign (and tell me a bit about yourself, 'invite pls' or 'yeah i'll play' isn't helpful). Looking forward to hear from you :) Link to the campagin listing (up in about an hour): https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/26738/on-the-frontier
