Hello all! First post here. I recently pretty much retired (still a bit of side biz going on) and have time on my hands for the first time in, like, 35 years. For the first time not full concentrated on career. My thoughts returned to my youth and then saw this site. So, I was thinking... What is the interest in my Refereeing some old style games? For perhaps local area I have devised a campaign and have the first 3 installments on paper and I was thinking about rolld20 now that I found it and maybe I should work on bringing them into rolld20. However, it does appear this site is D&D, Pathfinder and other mainstream games and so I was wondering if there is an interest in gaming with an old geezer Referee in some old 1970's style games. New players, old geezers like me, group of friends or even solo people getting together for the first time etc. So, interest check! Any comments, advice etc would be welcomed. I have put together a description of the first module to see what you all think. https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/3885203/insidious-horizon-dread-moon
Hello and well met fellow old school gamer. I read through the description and maybe its just me but I'm not seeing which system you've chosen for this campaign. I get that its space opera but that's about all I get. Sorry, can you elaborate on your current campaign? Which system, days, times, time zone, frequency, etc.? Or is this more of a placeholder to find people who want to play some old school games in the future? Either way, I'd be very interested and would like to keep in touch. However, it does appear this site is D&D, Pathfinder and other mainstream games and so I was wondering if there is an interest in gaming with an old geezer Referee in some old 1970's style games. I've been roll20 since the beginning (this is my new account) and have had a lot of success running non D&D games. I find the roll20 blog to be very useful. I love the ORR industry report as I find it helps me plan for my next campaign: http://blog.roll20.net/post/159952619415/the-orr-group-industry-report-q1-2017 I've ran Paranoia, Call of Cthulhu, Trail of Cthulhu, FATE, D&D, Traveller, and a few more. It's always a lot easier to find players for D&D but I've never not found players for other games. Just had to be patient. If you want any help navigating through roll20 and setting things up, let me know. I can meet during the week online with you. I'm also putting together an All Flesh Must Be Eaten zombie survival campaign. I can bring you into that and let you see how I've set everything up. Just message me. P.S.: You might want to change the link to the game you posted. It's an active join link. Anyone who clicks on it joins your game. Should post the looking for group link instead. Unless you really want anyone who clicks the link to join then don't mind me.

Thanks for the reply Mr. pub! Thanks for the link info, I will change it. It really is a check...I have 3 'modules' ready (though the first one is really short deliberately as a test the water for the players) but to bring it into Roll20 will require commitment which I am more than willing to do. However, I know myself and I will throw myself into it. I just want to make sure that I don't spend the time and then find little interest. That is the meaning of the post. The 'rules set' I will be using is heavily modified...you might call it more 'home grown' than actual...but it is based on the old game Space Opera. I could have a start within a couple weeks but right now I didn't mean to set up the logistics...just an interest check :) I will definitely hit you up with questions etc. Thanks man!

By default a link such as https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/1234567/s ... is only visible to players already in the game, and only Plus and Pro subscribers can make their games visible to the public , but even then people not in the game can not post to the forums. The best way to handle this situation is to create a Looking for Group listing ; even if you do not enable it for viewing in the LFG Directory you can share the link with others and have a separate Listing Discussion forum just for those potentially interested in your game. As a bonus, anyone who posts to your game's Listing Discussion forum will have a big blue button by their username and all a GM has to is click 'Invite to Game' and an invitation will be sent their way. I hope this helps, happy gaming! :)
Thanks Kitty. Since I screwed it up, I will let this thread die and I will begin importing the first module for roll20. I will then create a listing looking for players. The first module is short and if I bring it in but there is little/no interest, not much time will be wasted. Thanks!

You didn't really screw things up, you made a mistake common to new GMs. 'S all good, man. ;)
