Hello everyone, I am currently looking for people to play in a homebrew D&D campaign. I've had a player not show up, so I'm looking to replace his character. If you're interested in playing please answer the following questions in this thread. We play weekly Mondays at 8pm. EST 1. What class/race would you like to play? 2. Character name/gender. 3.Give a short (3-4 sentence) backstory for your character. 4. What is your experience with D&D? 5. What novels/video games/movies inspire you
1.Wanted Class/Race: I was thinking a Halfling/Paladin (though if this concept does not work for your group I have others) 2.character name/Gender: Gunther HikeFeather/Male 3.Short Backstory: Gunter grew up in a small village among few other halflings,Gunther Differed from his peers in a few aspects, 1.he did not like the sedentary ideals of halfings and enjoyed things like fighting. 2.Was much more philosophical about why his kind was blessed with their inexplicable luck. This ideology lead Gunther to find a job as a guard for a church of (insert god of good luck/fortune/fate/ect), few years after settling in and raising a few questions about the beliefs of the faith the town was attacked and the church was in the middle of the raid, Gunther helped as many clergy members as he could before being hit upside the head and falling unconscious. When Gunther awoke in the still smoldering burned down church he had a epiphany about faith and decided to take fate into his own hands at the burned altar, with his personal oath and wanting to make sure "just bad luck" doesn't strike again, he forges onward. 4.D&D Experience: been playing D&D likes for about 4 years, started with pathfinder(retired from) for about 2 years, picked up 5e about 1.5 years ago, and have somewhat recently enjoyed playing some shadow of the demon lord and fallout PnP 5. novels/video games/movies inspirations: 2 things really come to mind, Dark Souls for its NPCs that all have varied means of coping with awful situations and how the world can be ever shifting and while a long time ago Gregor the Overlander book series sticks with me to this day.

I would love to jump into a game as i have been stuck as a Dm for a while and haven't found myself with a lot of time available. Between work and sleep its been rough, but i'm a lot more available now, and for a while to come. 1,2,& 3: I have a few ideas running depending on what you think will be best for the party. Starting with: A Paladin of Oath of the torch (removing the 3rd level ability Angelic arms ) https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Oath_of_The_Torch_(5e_Subclass) entirely up to you if you dont like it, just wanted something that fit the character idea better in my head and i'm willing to balance it. He is a man who was originally just a hunter for a small village but ran into a dangerous undead that was going to kill him but was saved by a paladin. Inspiring him to use his life to protect others he spent some time as a soldier and took a knack for medicine and became a field medic for a while but decided to come (to the capital/major city?) to practice as a doctor after important people realized he a good talent for medicine and was encouraged to pursue it. He was given lodging and an office by a noble family of a man who he had saved the life of during deployment. He eventually was given jobs and was depended on to save lives of generally important people. (He needs to have a sort of crises that involved him losing title, maybe a failed operation on someone important and was discredited, or was captured during war and was forced to save an enemy leader and was unlicensed, etc.) A Human Blood Hunter probably going ghost-slayer or profane soul, depends really. https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/classes/blood-hunter this one, I will admit, is a bit more edgy. He is a noble man of the Grimsbane family, who has lost everything he has ever know or loved to an evil (profane soul would likely make it a demon and ghost-slayer would be a lich or something) and decided to accept dark powers to be able to slay it and release the souls of his family and lover. Hes on a vengeance path but knows he needs strength and friends to slay it but its difficult because he has become a little jaded considering events and what it takes to become a blood hunter. He is haunted by these powers and his scars consistently remind him of his lack of strength to overcome and protect so he will do everything he can to protect those he considers friends. A Swashbuckler or Scout rogue might be a dex fighter depending on some things. He is a father who lost his wife, and his son is missing so he is following a trail of crumbs to find him at all costs he is either a hunter or an ex soldier depending on what you had in mind, but he will likely be familiar as a scout or a formidable flanker in the battlefield i have yet to pin it down as it changes a couple of times but his is a somewhat charismatic man that is honorable and trustworthy and favors efficiency above most things as long as it doesn't cross his strong morals. I have a few more ideas running around and could always make something that will fit better to your world (also i have a utility option of wizard as well but im not far into it and would not be able to plug and play as easily as the others) 4: I have been playing a large amount of 5e for the past 4 1 / 2 years and i'm not too familiar with most any other tabletops with only a small breath of dabbling in witcher and dragon-age and a few more. Most of my experience is as a DM but i have been told that i am a good player as well. 5: I'm a massive fan of the Witcher series games and books, and the Elder-scrolls games (despite its few shortcomings i have an ungodly amount of hours on skyrim and oblivion), i love dark-souls for its gritty and rough realism of not being a god among men and having to fight to survive regardless of having a purpose. I'm usually a fan of dark fantasy in general but i still find plenty of enjoyment in wonder lust magical worlds as well It's probably a little rude and i will still check here, but the quickest way to reach me would be on discord as i actually receive a notification there. Raysayvose#2274
1. What class/race would you like to play? A druid Hill dwarf 2. Character name/gender. Ulysses Male 3.Give a short (3-4 sentence) backstory for your character. Born to a nature hating family of dwarves, Ulysses was ostracized for his inherent nature loving attitude. He found that he had an obsession for all things living and dead when it came to nature. Ulysses felt it his goal in life to learn all he could about the natural world even if it meant leaving his heritage behind. 4. What is your experience with D&D? About 2 years of D&D 5e and 1 year of roll20 5. What novels/video games/movies inspire you The main novel that inspires me would have to be the Ranger's Apprentice series of books. As for movies I have always had an affinity for the tried and true lord of the rings movies.
Hello I’m not sure if this is still open but I would like to give it a try. 1. What class/race would you like to play? Currently looking to play A Half Elf Sorcerer. Still a bit un decided on if I want it to be a shadow magic sorcerer in which case I would multi class into a hex blade warlock or a dragon in bloodline sorcerer in which case I’d keep it in that single class with a small dip into fighter. 2. Character name/gender. Artorias (surge of the house of shadow)/ Male 3.Give a short (3-4 sentence) backstory for your character. Half breed mark of the shadow elf whom was raised by his mother in secret for a short time til he was four. His mother would later be killed for tresion against the house of shadow and her son exiled. Struggling on the streets he would discover his magical abilities and vowed vengeance against the house of shadow whom killed his mother. 4. What is your experience with D&D? 2 years+ playing mostly adventure league and a few hombres games. 5. What novels/video games/movies inspire you When I think of dnd things that come to mind include stores such as Goblin Slayer, Overlord, Time I got reincarnated as a slime and Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon to name a few.
