Avatar-Inspired Wuxia Setting - On-going groups or Projects?

(I had posted this on the wrong place, so I'ma post it again, sorry, mods!) Has any of you managed to DM or play such a campaign? I've recently re-watched the cartoon and it kind of rekindled my love for the setting (being a kung fu practitioner as well doesn't help). So I've been kinda hankering to play in a Avatar-like setting. I've done some research and found some promising things. I've seen D&D 5e inspired ones (albeit not very wholesome); a decent 3.5 one 5e: https://www.liquidlegends.net/blogs/491695-book-5e-bringing-avatar-to-d-and-d-5e 3.5: http://dndsnd.pbworks.com/f/Avatar+The+Last+AirBender+d20+v2.03.pdf I've also seen The Legend of Elements, which sounds very intriguing. Wondering if any of you have used it and what your opinion on it would be. Depending on how popular of an idea this is, I was considering playing or even DMing it myself. But I need some feedback and ideas. I've previously done some systems from scratch back in the day, and even though that's a lot of work (and sometimes doesn't end up being very good) I'd be more than happy to colab with someone in order to crank something up.
Dear G.Frost, The Avatar cartoon is a classic, and a D&D setting inspired by it sounds like a lot of fun. I would love to join you, as a player or just some one to bounce ideas off of. I'm a fledgling GM, I have ideas for games but have never gotten a real one off the ground. Most of the fault is a combination of my lack of experience and quickly getting overwhelmed, which sucks because I really want to Game master. It's a side of table top rpgs that I have rarely experienced. You see, I am some what on a road of self-betterment with d&d, as some of the skill I learned from play help me in the real world. Table top rpgs have really helped me become more social and even writing posts on Roll20 has helped me learn how to write a application. Being a Game Master is my next step I want to take to being a better person. I was hoping that with someone else with me I wouldn't give up so early on starting up a game. Thank you for reading, Caspian
I've played a FATE based version of the Last Airbender setting that worked very well - it's simple, cinematic, flexible and best of all, FATE is free. The Dresden Files Roleplaying Game (which is built on FATE, but you'd have to pay for the book) is a bit crunchier if that's your preference and its magic system would probably stand in very well for bending, but FATE Core will handle bending just fine with a touch of refluffing. I've... tried playing and running d20-based versions, and they don't really give the feel of the setting and often added far more complexity than could be worth it to an already excessively-convoluted system, as well as being weirdly restrictive. On the other hand, I really don't like d20 systems in general, so your mileage may vary. I've not heard of The Legend of Elements before, so can't really comment on it I'm afraid. I'd be pretty interested in this if it went non-d20, and was text based. But I appreciate the later tends to be a big ask sometimes. Good luck!
I'd definitely go for something that pushed for creativity and less stone-set rules. Of course, there needs to be a restrictive rule in order to keep things within boundaries. A stamina system of sorts, or chi system. It'd also be necessary to determinate a 'class-system', specially for non-benders. It'd be tricky to fit everything into its place. I'm doing some more research and writing some stuff down. I'ma post more as I make my notes clearer.
