[LFP] Fire On The Suns A Blaze Of Glory (FOTS ABOG) - Traveler

We're still looking for players for this game. As my old posts appear to have been unpublished I'm reposting this here. Thus far the party has traveled for 11 weeks across 3 subsectors and part of another on their quest to discover the reason behind a series of attacks by mysterious aliens on Terra's outer colonies 20 years ago and a more recent one on an inner colony. Together with the AI-run starship the Beavis , they have fought ice zombies, gangsters, troll-like aliens, and encountered an enemy agent of the Unspeakable Ones who was attempting to plunge an entire world into total darkness. They have delivered first responders to the scene of a planet-wide disaster and negotiated trades and shipping deals which are gong to make them wealthy and been "read in" on what the Terran Federal Republic knows about the mysterious alien threat known only as the Mi-Go as they head to the tiny Kahs colony known as Blackroot to pick up or rescue an acquaintance of their equally mysterious psionic patron. Following the encounter with troll-like aliens and an Unspeakable One agent on the Q'Tez world Wingflight, and the tragic loss of an old party member who gave his life in the attempt to deliver it, the party finds itself in possession of a book containing thus far untranslatable alien script. As the Beavis jumps for Pinfeather, another Q'Tez world 4 parsecs closer to the war zone the party can only wait and hope that the scholar they are to pick up at Blackroot will be able to aide them by translating the book and revealing its secrets - and perhaps the secrets needed to end the 20-year long war against the Unspeakable Ones.

FOTS ABOG  is played on Thursdays from 1pm Central Daylight Time (Oklahoma time) till about 5-ish.
As the Beavis jumped in-system at Pinfeather they immediately heard warnings of weapons fire and enemy ships in their vicinity and a distress call. They found themselves dead astern of three spacecraft at a range of 2560 thousand km - one 8000 ton passenger liner and two 310 ton Unspeakable One gunboats. Four other gunboats and the gunboat tender they were attached to were also present 900 thousand km away. Farther out was a single Type S scout also responding to the call and much farther out were several system defense boats being launched by the local scout base. As the Type S was seriously outgunned and the SDBs were hours away the situation was up to the Beavis to resolve. With surprise achieved, the Beavis opened fire. The first salvo did damage to one gunboat, but not serious enough to do more than attract their attention. As the gunboats vectored to bear on them the Beavis' second salvo turned one gunboat into junk with missiles.The 2nd gunboat launched missiles, but Beavis' point defense lasers shot them out of space well before they could impact. Beavis' own weapons fire junked the 2nd gunboat in minutes. With SDBs closing and a ship with the apparent firepower of a corvette or frigate in system the other 4 gunboats returned to their tender and the ship ran for the jump threshold. In 3 rounds of combat the Beavis and its crew easily dispatched two 310 ton gunboats without suffering a scratch to his paintjob, rescued the passenger liner from a fate possibly worse than death, and ensured a Type S scout and her pilot would live to fight another day.
