When you
woke up this morning I bet you didn't think you were looking for four headed
lion statues that shoot lasers from their eyes? And yet, here we are... Laser
puzzles are your bread-and-butter type of puzzles that you can add to any game
of any level. Basically, characters encounter a group of these mysterious
statues in a dungeon or outside. Talking to the statues will teach them how to
solve the puzzle. Technically
integrating this puzzle into you campaign is easy. You just
add your map on the background layer and you're ready to go. Alternatively, you
can copy and paste the statues into your existing dungeon. Integrating
the puzzle story wise is also easy. Players
need to connect the statues who have 'lost' each other for some reason and
magically appear asking the players for help. Why the statues are lost and what
they represent is anyone's guess. Maybe they represent the shattered mind of a
fallen lion god. Maybe, a cult of the thousand lions have been imprisoned and
players are freeing them. Or you can make up your own reasons and tie them to
your main storyline. I like this
puzzle mostly because players get to work together simultaneously and did I
mention the lasers? Who doesn't like lasers? Check it
