Our group recently lost a member due to scheduling issues and is looking for a replacement player to balance the party. Please read all the descriptions and instructions before sending me a message. This campaign is an adaptation of the Pathfinder Iron Gods campaign but  it merges adventures and quests from several different published sources, integrating canon, interpretation and imagination. The framework is fantasy in a world that has also discovered ancient science-based technology.   I strongly recommend that if you have played through the Iron Gods campaign, that you look elsewhere for a game, because any adventure is best experienced enjoying any twists and surprises rather than waiting for them.   We have a paladin, sorcerer, ranger, and rogue waiting to meet you!  The chosen player will join the group at level 3 and move to level 4 quickly to integrate into the party.  Preferred classes are based on published books. Compared to many on roll20, this group and DM is relatively new to role-playing games.  But we are looking for players willing to invest time and energy into a character they want to play and develop.  Backstory is important; don't let anyone tell you otherwise!  There might be some communication in a text-to-play format between games to build the experience.  I sometimes give preference to newer players because it's great to introduce people to this wonderful game.  I also have a soft spot for people who think they might want to DM in the future.   Please read the "rules", philosophy and guidelines.  Make sure it matches what you're looking for before you send me your application. Game Rules 1. Be respectful of your fellow heroes     A. If another hero has the floor, don't override them. The initiative rolls are there for a reason and out-of-combat situations have similar equity.     B. Don't be selfish, whether it's about loot or storyline     C. Understand that this is a TEAM campaign. In every campaign, there will come a time when you think "that's not what my character would do" This is understandable, but as a cooperative game, you may need to make minor concessions to make several individual characters into a party of heroes. While you are not chained to your fellow adventurers (that would be no fun!) this campaign will be less fun for everyone if characters were running off on 3-4 separate adventures every session. 2. Be respectful of the game     A. This is a role-playing game. The minutiae of the rules may take a backseat to the story. It shouldn't happen all the time, but it will happen.     B. It is fine to take a left turn, but it is poor form to choose multiple actions that go against a hero's personality or back story. The campaign is supposed to be flexible but that isn't a free pass to run roughshod over the world, looking for ways to flip the tabletop. 3. Be respectful of your DM. This campaign is *not* a DM versus party competition. I will play the DM as the moderator or facilitator.     A. The DM is helping your character experience the world. Sometimes that calculated risk has you face down in the mud with a dagger in your back. Sometimes it has you finding the dragon's treasure horde. Respect the consequences of your character's decisions and the dice. ***** When you reach out to me, please provide the following information: Proposed RACE and CLASS for your character (sorry, I cannot accommodate evil players at this time) The story starts in Torch, a town based on a large fire column that reaches skyward and is hot enough to forge most metals.  It recently went out.  What is the background for your character? Why is your character in Torch? Are you willing to "match up" with another character to build a history (friends, family etc) There will be "homework" between sessions--updating your character sheet, sometimes participating in a play-by-post session, contacting a party member regarding a game scenario. Will there be a problem with out-of-game assignments? What is your experience with role-playing games and why do you think this campaign would work for you? Name what you like most and a pet peeve about roll20 or tabletop role-playing games. If there are specific things you want from your DM or a game or fellow players, let me know.  It is always good to know up front.  (optional) What other hobbies or activities or work do you do?  Do you think you'll be able to reliably participate in an every other Friday game?  (I know Fridays can be difficult for many)
