i would also love to see this implemented. as a (very) new player on this site, it was quite frustrating to browse through searches for, say "Shadowrun"... and be presented with a bunch of completely unrelated fantasy homebrew campaigns that simply added every possible tag. perhaps making certain tags incompatible might resolve this? ie; you can't be "Shadowrun" -and- "D&D" or maybe limit the number of tags for specific systems to say 5ish (there's 5 different D&D tags). or perhaps only allow a single Game System, and just add a "D&D (Any version)" ** tags should perhaps be less "inclusive" -- searching for a selection of all the D&D types, i also got piles of Pathfinder and other fantasy systems. now, nothing against pathfinder here, it's just not the system i wanted to get into. (also see the "category" idea below.) ** create multiple search fields. "contains these tags" and then a 2nd field for "not these tags" ** create additional, more generic tags, possibly in a 3rd search field "Category" Fantasy, Historical, Sci-Fi, Cyberpunk, Home-brew, Hack n Slash, Story-driven, Dungeon-crawl (sort of interpretable depending on the game).. Social -- ie, group organized for social reasons, like "how to be a better GM" or "players from [region]"... where the intent is more to gather and discuss instead of play a game. i'm sure there are lots more tags that could be added here. Heck, "Fantasy" and "Sci-Fi" could each be broken down into a dozen categories without even putting in effort. ** other threads have also suggested limiting search by "open slots". this would be a great option.. or perhaps have a "recruiting" tag, to indicate whether a group will accept more players at this time. "welcomes new players" reads to me like "it's ok if you're new to this system (or roleplaying in general), we'll help you learn it" and not that the group is looking for more players to join. anyway, awesome site here.. looking forward to seeing it continue to grow and improve. :)
