I have some limited experience playing GURPS and GMing, ideally I'd like to play more in order to get experience with the rules. I like science fiction (especially hard science fiction), historical and fantasy (dark fantasy/sword & sorcery especially, but also Dungeon Fantasy). Espionage, too, in whatever setting. I have almost all the GURPS books through e23, but in print mainly the core books and anything to do with science fiction or guns. About the only thing I am not interested in playing is very silly, anime-themed or romance plots. Otherwise I am cool with anything from literal Byzantine politics to hunting wolves in Hyborian earth to working as elite pilots for a space travel consortium!
I can both GM and play GURPS. I mostly have used 3rd edition Revised and have GM'd fantasy mostly. I did try GMing sci-fiction, espionage, time travel, and Mage-esque.

I am a long time GURPS GM and player since the beginning of 3rd edition - Once 4th edition came out, that is all I use. I enjoy GMing mostly TL6+ games (Civil War, World War II, Modern, (Cops, War, Espionage) After the End, Star Trek, Traveller, well you get the idea) I enjoy playing just about anythings except for Cinematic, Silly, or anything run abstractly. I am tired of Fantasy.
Hello! I'm a long time GURPS GM and have gamemastered lots of different settings and genres (from historical, to pulp, fantasy to mecha, hard sci-fi to multidimensional high powered adventure and some more). My friends like how I game master, so I may be fine, probably. I'm most interested in playing, though. As I'm not a native English speaker and that will make describing scenes, places and people harder and less fluid for me and everyone. Also GURPS is my favorite game but I have almost never played it because there are few other GURPS GMs where I live. I may be most interested right now in something adventurous, sci-fy, space opera or maybe something a little harder sci-fy, specially military sci-fy. But I will like to play almost anything in GURPS really.
holiday commitments have my tied up. BUT soon after.im going to be running something. leaning to 3e space.or horror

I'm more beer and pretzels laid back style.  I like big darn heroes so may not be a good fit. :) or on the sci-fi front GURPs Traveller is something my speed...and I'm not looking to run, I'm already committed to several other campaigns. :)

It's a politically fragmented 21st century Earth with lots of near-orbital and lunar development, though not much past that. I have spaceships, organizations, guns, a comprehensive list of allowed/disallowed traits, and even statistic normalizing rules!

I am both. I have run the following genre's Future Sci-Fi Cyberpunk Horror Modern Action Horror (Monster Hunter International) current campaign. High Fantasy 1920's Time Travel / World Jumping I am currently a player in a home brew High Fantasy as a very large female barbarian.  Astrid   I've been playing GURPS off and on since its inception waaaaaay back. And just generally gaming since I was 10 (1978).
wow way to go Savage Gm  very diverse GURPSfolio
I'm a long time fan of GURPS but have limited play and GM experience with it. The tabletop groups I've been in have rarely been up for it. I have all of the 4th ed books that were/have been available in print and a large growing library of 3rd ed books. I have a lot of GM experience in other systems just not GURPS. I'm open to a variety of genres and settings.
also feel free to tell your roll20 friends about this group

GURPS wise, I'm looking to play; my days of spending hours crunching numbers and statting things up... who has the time? Caveat: if I find some people that stand the test of time, and they'll only play Gurps, then I might run. Rules are easy; characters are easy. Character is hard.
I'm a player. Sorry I just don't have the time to build whole worlds to the point that I'm satisfied enough to present it to friends.
Hi! New here. Just saying hello. Love to play - Almost down for just about anything save Ritual Magic. Only caveat is I work a lot... If there's interest I can resurrect several games.  Sci-fi is great Fantasy also a personal favorite. I like run a lot of what I call modern setting games (Crime - Action) Personal favorite is 1920's or Urban fantasy secret magic games  Only caveat is I work a lot... Initially player but will get round to GMing in the future but need to spend some time playing GURPS again first as it's been years since I last picked up one of the rule or source books. As a note I'm in timezone UTC+2 Game wise when I get round to offering something up I can cover: Cyberpunk Urban Fantasy Pulp Alternate History Horror/Conspiracy Feudal Japan/China Now & The Near Future Space In fact pretty much anything really but the above or mixes of the above are the ones that I'm most likely to run and also the ones I prefer to play, though am open to trying almost any genre or setting
Hello F00d, I'm interested in the GURPS Feudal Japan/China.
Paolo B. said: Hello F00d, I'm interested in the GURPS Feudal Japan/China. It will be some time before I'm going to be running any games. I haven't played GURPS in about 20 years so will need time to relearn rules and play a few games before I launch any form of campaign.
New GURPS Space game on Roll20. GURPS Space: Raid on Sterling.   Playing Tue. 1/29/2019 at 6:00 pm Pacific
I'm also interested in the Cyberpunk game.  I don't have the Cyberpunk books.
Hi! Any game at GMT+1 or near time zon    e?
I am a player. I´ve played 2 games soo far, not for very long though, but I have 6 years of experience playing various TTRPGs. Im from Portugal GMT+0. If anyone needs an extra player just count me in, as in send me a message.
Long time D&D 2e and 5e player looking to get some player experience in gurps, Have 4th edition and MANY guides. Will run a modern survival horror game after I skill up as a player and understand the system mechanics better, until then get me slotted into your game so I can learn to GURP
I just got my kickstarter of the Fantasy Trip arriving in the mail...GURPS before there was GURPS... :)
I’m running a GURPS Martial Arts game Monday’s at 6 pm Pacific and a GURPS Cyberpunk game Tuesdays at 6 pm Pacific. &nbsp;Email me if interested: &nbsp;<a href="mailto:PBarone714@gmail.com" rel="nofollow">PBarone714@gmail.com</a>
I'm a player that makes weird and wonderful characters. I have strained against D&amp;D 5e long enough. I don't like classes. My concepts rarely fit the dozen-or-so slots available. I don't like the combat mechanics. They're monotonous and gum up fast. I don't like the non-combat mechanics. They are somehow even worse. I don't like the genre. Medieval fantasy is highly codified and limiting. I don't like the idea of monsters. I pain for each creature I must slay. I don't like the power fantasy. I want to earn victory if I must fight. I don't like murderhoboes. They ruin my immersion. Does GURPS fit my bill?
John.&nbsp; As a gm, GURPS will suit your needs. As a player, some GURPS tables will fit your bill.&nbsp;
John, GURPS will sure fit your bill, just stay away from the Dungeon Fantasy books, they may be a good source of ideas for multiple fantasy adventure campaigns but it thrives in all the things you don't like. Take a look at Banestorm, a great world built with a lot of logic and sense, also to the generic Fantasy setting sourcebook (a book to make fantasy games, not just the ordinary power fantasy) and I would also recommend any of the multiple historical books, having the feet on the ground will help you build incredible fantasy worlds that makes a lot of sense, and the medieval/ancient ones have the myths and believes of the region depicted integrated and are great as inspiration or even straight (just as presented) fantasy campaigns.&nbsp;
I am a long time gurps player but i have gmd a few games. I prefer playing however. I have yet to play in a setting that i didn't like. So long as there is good rp then i am happy
I'm new to GURPS and can't GM worth anything. I stumbled onto a copy of the rulebook (3E I believe) and&nbsp; utterly adored the character creation, making half a dozen characters from different genre just to see how well GURPS handled it. It's amazing being able to make characters with unusual collections of very specific abilities without getting the feeling that some are just better than others. Since it's the potential for unusual characters that draws me in, I'm definitely more interested in fantasy and supernatural settings. The item system is kinda clunky and limiting in my opinion, and pure modern / historical settings inherently don't leave much room for creativity. Conflict manages to look just as interesting as character drama in GURPS, since the system looks to handle a variety of conflict well rather than catering entirely to wargame-y direct encounters.
Get the computer character generator and load up some of the .dat files and creation becomes a breeze. GURPS conflict is deadly, regardless of period. I've run D&amp;Dish games, sci-fi, western, modern and horror with the system and it holds up very well. If you're looking at alien or mutant, you might want to check out some of their add-on books like Cyber-punk, Uplift, Bio-tech or Ultra-tech. They have book with a wide range of magic spells and a variety of ways to cast (hermetic, runic, aspected, etc.) Equipment is well based and where possible matched to reality (within the games parameters). The mechanics are basic, but additional layers can be added or ignored for taste. All the books are well researched and offer many side-bars to enhance the mechanics or concepts. Have played GURPS for several years and it is my go to for ANY genre as it remains consistent whatever you choose. We once ran some characters through a collection&nbsp; of genre; modern, apocalyptic, sci-fi and victorian setting, all within one campaign without needing to change a thing on their sheets and the play was seamless.&nbsp;
Or you can stick with GURPS Lite. &nbsp;It’s got enough crunch for most without getting extremely deep. &nbsp;Granted it is far more crunch than say more universal/narrative systems such as Apocalypse World and FATE. &nbsp;And you don’t need a computer program that way...I find that far less intimidating to prospective new players...
I'm a GM and I really like playing Supers, with a little bit of mistery
I've mostly GMed, but I like playing, too.&nbsp; My favorite genres are science fiction and old-school cinematic sword and sorcery.&nbsp; From the GM perspective, I have a homebrew fantasy setting I'm fleshing out more as I push things to my wiki.&nbsp; Otherwise, I have a lot of loose ideas for a science fiction thing, but it's not really ready for play just yet. I have run introductory games for new GURPS players a few times, and they usually go well, though a mix of new and experienced players is usually the best mix for me. As a player, I like games that don't require a lot of in-depth roleplaying and backstories and such.&nbsp; I like to have fun and relax while gaming, so I tend toward Action!, Dungeon Fantasy, and Action! in Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace. Thinking about it, my games tend to be Action! in ___, where ___ is fantasy, science fiction, whatever.&nbsp; I'm also a fan of really crazy games (GURPS Anthill?&nbsp; GURPS Rifts?).
