The game is currently set to play on Fridays at 7:30pm PST. This may change depending on player availability, with Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays being openly available. If any of these days work for you, feel free to put in an application! Introduction The human realm of Venarre is bound honor and chivalry. While the noble lords sit in their castles, waging silent wars of politics against one another in an attempt to leverage their power and lands, the virtuous orders and houses of knights traverse the realm in the name of holy conquest. To some, it is the will of the divines that drives them. To others, it is the will of the throne. But not all is well Venarre... To the east, even as the Call to Arms has sent the greenskin hoards fleeing in disarray, there remains murmurs of a darker evil brewing. And in the south, in the far regions of the peninsula, the newfound religion of the Searing Bright has begun its expanse, expunging all others in its wake. Treaties have been broken; allegiances wear thin. As darkness seeps further and further into Venarre, who will rise up to face it? The Setting The Venarre Peninsula is one of the many realms and provinces in my homebrew world of Nerithal. It's cultures, lands, and people are distinct from many of the other "settings" of the world. It is predominantly human-based, and has a heavy emphasis on knights, faith, and lawful tendencies. Yet that's not to say they are the only possibilities; all classes have a place in the setting, and every core race is easily fit. Likewise, though it's quite possible that the party may leave the peninsula, it will ultimately be the focal point of this game. While many worlds and homebrew settings have tried to develop something unique and out of the box (my own included!), for this game we are going back to the basics: a trope-y, medieval fantasy genre. The characters are truly the heroes. Not everything is set in stone, however, and much of my world-building process is done as the results of your characters. The lands outside of Venarre are ready to be molded and crafted; even within the peninsula, there is much room to shift, change, and create the landscape based on the needs of the characters. I will always work with my players to develop a strong character that is heavily invested within the world. My Experience I have been DM'ing for many years now and have run numerous campaigns here on Roll20. I strive to provide custom high quality maps (made from purchases here on the marketplace) and constantly make use of API scripts, dynamic lighting, etc., as I attempt to make the game as easy and immersive as possible for all my players. Requirements & Disclaimers 1. Voice & Video. You'll need both a decent mic and camera (No potatoes!). We will be using Discord for voice and Appear.in for video. 2. While this will be a fairly serious world and setting, comedy is inevitable, and I fully expect it to be both outrageous and inappropriate at times. If you can't take a punch (and by punch, I mean potentially being subjected to a periodic onslaught of roasting), then this game might not be for you! If you can dish it out as well as take it, then throw in an application! 3. Play in character! Since I strive to put a lot of work into maps, stories, NPCs, etc., the goal is ultimately to craft a fun, collaborative, and immersive story-telling experience, and this means that playing in character is key. Though not necessary, voices add another layer to your character when it comes to roleplaying, and so I will definitely be looking for those who are willing to do so. 4. House Rules: This game will be using a fair number of rules revisions, but will not solely be decided upon by myself. I will always work with my players to ensure the rules are fair, fun, and balanced. If you have any questions or would like to post up an application for the game, use the link below: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/141641/the-kingdom-of-venarre
