Table on Tablet doesn't work on iPad Air

Anyone have any fixes for table on tablet not working? Using Chrome (on iPad Air) it loads Roll 20 as you would expect but the actual table view either remains black or shows the tabletop briefly. In both cases the page then errors out. Using Firefox (still on iPad) the page reloads on a loop showing the tabletop as it does in chrome, either black or a brief flash of the tabletop before reloading. I only recently subscribed to be able to use this feature and its frustrating that it doesn't work at all. Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to give.

Hi Jeffers, Sorry it's giving you issues. I'll see if I can flag a dev about this.
Thank you!

I have the same issue on an iPad Pro 2017. No maps. I upgraded specifically for this feature, so it's rather disappointing. Mine never shows any hint of the maps, just a blank brushed aluminium-looking texture.

Hi Noel, I have added your issue to the report. Sorry for the delay on this. I suspect the holidays have caused some interference in the report process.
Hi Jeffers and Noel, Could you both provide screenshots of the issue you are seeing? Additionally things to try: Does this persist in a new game? Does this persist with a new character sheet?
So in my main game I’m not able to access anything, I try to load in it and starts to load, then reloads, the says failed to load. I tried to open an old game and could and could also load a character sheet and use it, but I’m not even able to get loaded in to even try to load a character sheet in my main game. The only thing I can think is that maybe it’s because my main game has a lot of people on it and tus a lot of characters, maps, data in the game server. It also uses a lot of api scripts so maybe that’s a limiting factor. Also I know the app doesn’t have player map capabilities, but I’m also not able to load a character sheet for this same game on that. But I will try a different game for that as well.
These are from the first game, as it tries to load
This is what I get to every time in my Storm Kings Thunder campaign before the page crashes
I very occasionally get to this view for about 1 second before the page crash happens as usual.
When I load an old Lost Mines of Phandelver campaign it does load fine so it seems to just be on my main campaign

Thank you everyone! With the information provided, it seems possible that the size of the game (SKT is a fairly large module) may be playing a role in this issue. I have submitted a ticket for devs to investigate more thoroughly.

Drespar, Sorry I've been away. For me it doesn't load anything at all. See attached. I just get a grey screen. That's it. The map never appears. Also I'm confused by the screenshots shown by the other users here because they are for the browser version, which works fine (except for the fact that scrolling around the map is almost impossible). I'm talking specifically about the iPad app version. That's where this screenshot is from. The module I'm playing in this campaign is The Lost Mine of Phandelver. Please advise. Thanks, Noel da Costa

Hi Noel, The App is not intended to show maps. It is meant primarily as a table aid, not for running the game. From the wiki: Roll20 for iPad  and  Roll20 for Android  are free-to-use mobile tablet applications focused on player-specific portions of Roll20. The simplest summary of what these applications are aimed to do would be "things you hold in your hand" at an in-person gaming table. That includes: digital dice, character sheets, handouts, and rules (compendium). To tie these features together, there is also access to Roll20's text chat features. Not included in the applications are tokens, maps, voice chat, video chat, and other tabletop functionality.

Hi Keith, What a pity. Seems like a pointless app then. The whole reason I became a "Plus" subscriber was I thought that would enable maps on the iPad, because the the maps in the browser version on iPad is nearly impossible to use – as scrolling doesn't work well.  Might be worth stating on the iPad app page on the Roll20 site, "Does not do maps!". Would have saved me a lot of bother. Kind Regards, Noel

Hi Noel, Which page are you referring to? The wiki (linked from the menu selections in the page header) is pretty clear: Roll20 for iPad  and  Roll20 for Android  are free-to-use mobile tablet applications focused on player-specific portions of Roll20. The simplest summary of what these applications are aimed to do would be "things you hold in your hand" at an in-person gaming table. Not included in the applications are tokens, maps , voice chat, video chat, and other tabletop functionality. If there is another page describing the app where this is not stated, let us know and we'll correct that.
Hi Keith, I believe he's referring to the App Store page, the only way you know it doesn't have map functionality is because of reviews

Would have saved me a lot of bother. Kind Regards, Noel Hi Noel, it looks like you're confusing the app with the Table on Tablet feature that paid subscribers gain access to. Anyone can download and use the iPad or Android app regardless of subscription tier. As Keith said, the app is an in-person game aid rather than featuring the entire VTT. The "Table on Tablet" subscription feature allows a Plus or Pro subscriber to load all of the Roll20 VTT on their tablet's browser. To confirm, is that working as expected?
So was there any progress on as to why Table on Tablet doesn't work with Storm King's Thunder as per original issue in this thread and any potential fix for this? It was suggested it may be because SKT is a large module but can anything be done to make it work as I would really find the feature useful if it was working properly. Thanks.
Hey Jeffers, I have requested for an update to this issue. As soon as we have one, we will let you know. We thank you for your continued patience while we are still looking into this issue.

Yes, that's probably why I was confused. I was wondering why I would have said that there was no information about the maps not being included when it actually says as much on the roll20 site. It would help others no doubt if you could amend the App Store product description. keithcurtis said: Adam P. said: Hi Keith, I believe he's referring to the App Store page, the only way you know it doesn't have map functionality is because of reviews Possibly, but I was going by the stated " iPad app page on the Roll20 site", which wouldn't be the App Store.
