[D&D 5e] Changing all player character sheet rolls to GM only

Hey. Sorry if this topic has been made before but I searched all over only to bear no fruit. I exported a character from one of my other campaigns that I used as my own character originally to a new campaign where I am the DM and wish to use him as a villain. Is there a way to make it so all of his rolls only show to me without changing the template to an NPC sheet?

Where the setting are depends on the sheet being used. Which of the three most likely sheets are you using for 5e? OGL by Roll20, Shaped, Or Community?

As far as I can tell, the Community Sheet is pre-set to roll openly for PCs and whisper rolls for NPCs. Bear in mind, that this particular sheet has largely been abandoned. I do not believe it has had an update in over two years.

And in changing it, will I have to re-write the monsters and PC's I've already added?

Changing sheets usually requires re-writing characters, sadly. They all use their own sets of names for attributes. You will find ardent proponents of ether of the two most popular sheets. Either one does a good job with drag and drop monsters and module monsters & NPCs. 5th Edition OGL by Roll20  is the official sheet, and has the closest integration with official offerings, as it is developed in lock step with modules and compendiums. It is clean and easy to pick up, though it lacks a little in the customization department. It is also the most widely used, if you are into the LFG forums. It also is the only D&D sheet that works with Charactermancer. D&D 5e Shaped is a user-contributed sheet that is far more complex and can do nearly anything. It can import NPCs fine, but PC sheets need to be created from scratch if coming from another source. It also has a companion script (if you ever decide to go Pro) that can do small miracles of automation. My personal preference is Shaped, because I am a tinkerer and at the Pro level, the automation is spectacular. But honestly, either sheet is a fine choice.

You can test how well your monsters and characters import by creating test games using each of the other sheets, and using the  The Character Vault  to import them.
Wow. Thank you for your time and the information. Even just going through the charactermancer page for the official sheet is making me wonder why my DM told us the community one is best. Serves me right for not tinkering on my own, I suppose. Time to get on the grind and switch sheets (and tell my players that we have to start again, but thankfully the campaign hasn't started yet...)
If 5e Shaped is so spectacular, then why doesn't Roll20 use that one for their sheet?

5e OGL is also spectacular and many people prefer it. But Shaped is community contributed. Roll20 has no control over it or the design decisions that go into it. If some percentage of people like Batman better than Iron Man, Marvel will not start producing Batman comics.
