Sheet template rolls intermittently not showing on the Chat Archive

Heard reports of this behavior from my players, took a while before I was able to confirm it: Sometimes, but not always, rolls made via sheet template macros don't display when viewing the chat archive. When checking the chat archive three days ago, I confirmed this: When checking the same scene today, though, I saw this: All lines using a roll template were simply gone. It seems to occur intermittently, with no clear pattern.

This sounds like one of two things: An issue with the sheet or an issue with the Chat. Which sheet are you using? If it is a Roll20 official sheet, I can escalate this. If it is a community-provided sheet, Roll20 offers no support, and you will need to reach out to the sheet creator. I can assist you by moving this thread to the Character Sheet thread. If the issue is a corrupted Chat (less likely, since it sounds like your problem is intermittent, and a corrupt chat is usually pretty consistent), you can try clearing the chat archive: Sometimes the Chat Archive can become corrupt, causing issues with macros and templates, and even general posting and die rolling. A game's Creator is often able to fix issues with their Text Chat by  clearing the Chat Archive  (note: not  clearing your current Chat Log ). A GM might want to copy/back up the Chat Archive before the Creator clears it.

I actually am  the sheet author - it's a custom sheet that I'm working on getting ready to submit to the github. If the only fix is to clear the chat archive, I guess I'll just wait the 2-ish sessions until the campaign is complete and deal with the problem until then.

Hi Prof, If clearing the chat archive doesn't fix the problem, this should definitely go into the Character Sheet Forum. It sounds like you are trying to work out a bug in your sheet, not a Roll20 code base problem. You would get far more directed and expert help there from other Sheet Authors who follow that forum.
