Using ruler and then moving?

We use the ruler for measuring distance.  You can use the right mouse to branch your line in a new direction, but is there a key to hit to then have it move your token to that new spot? After measuring everything out, the moment you click your token the line is gone...

If you click and hold your token you can move it, if while you move it you right click you'll set way points that will show distance like the ruler, then just release the mouse button and you will have moved and everyone will see how far you have moved. This is the way I move my token. Would that work for what you're trying to do?

Waypoints  is when you move your token and click the Q button once to activate the movement ruler then click the Q button for each waypoint such as making a turn. If you place the token and want to review it's path, select the token and press X to have the path reappear.
Thank you both, this is exactly what we need!
