Easy Going DM Looking for Critical Role Players to play in Tal'Dorei Setting

I want 4-5 players to play with a somewhat experienced DM (me) in a oneshot or long-term campaign (depending on the chemistry we have) once every other week or once a week depending on schedules and time zones. I promise not to broach painful topics such as sexual assault and promise to be respectful to all gender identities and orientations. I want to just have a fun, clean game with a group of easy-going people who are more interested in story and lore than strict rules. I don't know everything about Tal'Dorei or Dnd but have DM'd about 30 missions. There will be mistakes and rule checking, but that's half the fun :) Please respond, and hopefully we can have a terrific time. Requirements: You will need voice chat. Typing is easy, but it's not as fun without the accents. You will need to make your own character. (ask me any questions) We will be starting on level 3 because level one can be boring You will  be kicked if you insist on purposefully disrupting the game, are purposefully crass for no reason (this doesn't mean seeking whore houses or in-game things, just being a general jerk), and make advances on other players who are noticeably uncomfortable and tell me about it. There will 100% be no tolerance of sexual harrassment/harrassment of any kind in my group. I will kick you immediately after a brief investigation of both sides if deemed necessary. Safety is a very prominent concern. Couples are entirely welcome, however. I'll ask you to make your own token, but if you really don't know how, I can make it for you. Do you have a specific time/day in mind?

I would be interested, depending on the day and time you end up meeting.  I have wanted to play a campaign in Tal'Dorei ever since I started watching CR and I need more DnD in my life! I'm available Sunday-Thursday after 8pm MST, hope that is not too late, could possibly do 7:30 depending on what day of the week.

I would be interested depending on day and time. I also like critical role and don't now that much about the world but it is an interesting world. I suspect your are RP heavy for your sessions but what else would you use to describe you as a DM? Sorry my first experience with dnd i dont feel i had rhe best dm so im a little gunshy. I'm also curious what kind of story you are hoping to tell in the world if that's something you can answer. Im availible weekdays after 6cst (Not wed-fri). And sunday before 6pm. Id be interested in playing gunslinger if thats an option, though im sure a lot of people want that. But of all thr classes its the only one left im interested in. Magic classes intimidate me. (edit: my character would be a gunslinger whose father had been a diplomat or duke. It was found out he was cheating people and he was thrown into prison or killed. Left to the care of strangers my character had once been spoiled and used her money and power to get people to do what she wanted but in her new life shes found that she could do things with her own hands as well. Her mother didn't take to the streets and kindness' of others as well and last my character saw her she was begging at he door of an old friend's house. The girl however set out to acquire new skills to help her in her life and aid her in getting what she wanted. I see this campaign as a chance for her to learn that its not all about her own needs and that her life would be better if she learned to trust and rely on others. I picture her as a gunslinger.)

I'm not a super experienced DM (I admit), but I have a tendency to focus on the dark arts and then want to branch into a bigger campaign with gods like Vox Machina did. Ofc, that would take a while. You having a backstory that is already so developed is great! And ofc, we can work on your and the other players own personal campaigns in the meantime while a bigger one develops. I'm very flexible.

Hello! Here is my application. I hope we can work out a day and time that works. I'm partial to friday evenings but can generally be flexible. I'm in Mountain Time. Name: Amber Age: 30 Pronouns: Female Experience: 5e since release, 2 years DM experience. Character: Kir Race: Tiefling Age: 23 Class: Cleric 1, Wizard 2 Background: Recovered Cultist Backstory: Kidnapped as a baby, Kir was raised and indoctrinated with the sole purpose of being readied as a sacrifice to the Whispered One. Rescued at the last moment by adventurers, she was given over to a rural convent of the Everlight that also served as an orphanage. After many years and difficulties, she overcame the indoctrination of her youth and became a true follower of the Everlight, choosing to believe that everyone deserves the chance for redemption. Yet the Whispered One's touch left its mark on the girl, and she knows not whether the voice that occasionally speaks to her is truly real. Though she initially tried to train as a wizard, studying hard enough to gain a rare sponsorship into the Lycaem, focusing on divination magic to ascertain the nature of the voice, she intentionally left the Lyceum to become an Everlight cleric once her divinations revealed terrible futures if she continued in her studies and her relationship with Seona, an ambitious young wizardess and her first love. Years later, she gained sanction from the priestesses of her order to go out into the world as a cleric, and seek the Everlight wherever she may find her. Personality wise, Kir is compassionate but somewhat argumentative when it comes to offering enemies a chance to see reason before combat, though even she understands that sometimes beings will only find redemption in their next lives. She is very conscious of her tiefling heritage and her history as a former believer in the Whispered One, and she tries not to bring the latter up under any circumstances. Her wizarding skills have severely atrophied, but she maintains a book of basic spells for her own defense, supplementing the magics of her clerichood, which are largely focused on healing and defensive spells, but with some expertise at spells that can end the suffering of her opponents quickly and mercifully.

I would so love to be a part of a long term Tal'Dorei campaign. I have an idea for a Half Orc Monk (Way of the Long Death) that I think would fit great into the story. My availability is pretty open, so whenever works for you can work for me. I have discord, and a decent working mic (I have three headsets, so I have plenty of backup). I'm not sure if you have already found your group but I would definitely be interested in doing a Tal'dorei campaign. I'm a 27 year old guy in EST and have about a year's worth of experience with 5e through 2 campaigns.

Hello. I don't know if you have found all the players you need or not. I would definitely be interested if the time worked. I've been hoping to find a  Tal'dorei based game. I've run and play a lot of other 5e one shots on discord and would very much like to have a regular game to play in addition to the IRL one I run for my group.  My timezone is GMT +8, so that may be an issue, but would if the time fit and you need player's still, I'd happily submit an application and character idea if needed.

if this post is still open i would like to throw my hat in though it seems to be inactive for a good while I have Nearly 5 years of D&D 5e but not any substantial time spent to lean any other system yet. Most of my time is spent as a DM but i have really been wanting to stretch ideas and play time in to game but it can be hard to find dms that fit list. I have a plethora of ideas and concepts to roll through most fantasy settings and i tend to make big backgrounds and focus on the character as a person then his stat block or Op abilities. I Like to spend a small amount of time explaining things like spells and actions of significance to try and make the battle less hack and slash and feel more like a spectacle or a show (a little bleed from a long time DM). I try to encourage other players to engage and interact with other players and guide them to consider character actions before player actions to avoid such a basic gameplay of meta knowledge and inconsistent characters that become stale in their mystery or interest based on predictability around a regular gamer stacking his points and monster cards he looked up during the fight to remove surprise. As a player i also tend to lean more towards roleplay and politics then combat as its fun but less important to me to grind or to constantly kill stuff. I have a good number of character ideas but I will just drop one I'm itching to play just to keep this shorter then a book and bore you to death   Paladin  White Dragonborn Xoroc Vydandreth lost his child and causes him to carry a heavy weight of grief that he uses the scars he gained from it as a weapon against the wicked. I wanted to discuss how he lost his family and where he comes from cus it depends on your story and how you deal with dragonborn culture. My original idea is to see if i can use far traveler to play with some naivety and create a interesting character around being lost in a new place with only a single purpose. He is a honor bound man that is kind to people and supports peoples goals and desires in hopes they can achieve what he could not. So he will instead ignore his own pain and refuse to face his past to bury his feelings and instead try to make the party grow and make new friends i also have another idea for the character that is pretty similar but changes and adapts it to a warlock story instead if your looking for a less supporting role in the party. I absolutely plan to delve into this character and your story to make a really fun character for both the party and myself, and ...hopefully you will enjoy playing with him too.   Its a word wall i know, but hopefully you will give me a chance. I will still reply to roll20 and check regularly but it can be delayed at times as I don't get notifications but if your down to let me take a shot i can be reached much quicker on my discord.
