Projectors and Roll20

I want to use a projector at my table and Roll20 for the map and I am wondering if anyone has done this and what their thoughts were? Suggestions of projectors would also be helpful. I would be using this for the maps only and maybe monster tokens, but the players at the table would be moving their own figures and such.

You will have to find one that projects down on the table or rig one up to do that if you wish to use physical minis on the table. There are some old threads floating about the forums about it. I don't know of them offhand so you might have to do some searches with the keyword projector and other similar terms.

I've done it once or twice. When you use mini's it's kind of a pain if you need to scroll the map or zoom for any reason, the minis will lose their place. It's not a huge problem but it was definitely annoying. I would recommend having in game tokens in addition to the minis to mark the player position on the map (and for dynamic lighting if you use it).

If you use white dots for the PC minis, they can act like little spotlights. :)
