Help! If you can please, CS for Mongoose Legend

Hey there. Found a CS for Mongoose Legend on the Github but it needs workable macros etc it would be really cool if it could be merged with a Mythras or RQ6 code! But if I could do that I wouldn't be writing this! So any one help a guy out here directions etc?? Cheers Dave

What apart from a few skill name changes is the differences between Mythras and Legend? Using the Mongoose Legend sheet on github would be pointless as it is based on tables which would not be accepted.

Greetings, There is a wiki article on Building Character Sheets . This would be the place to start. As to David's comment. New character sheets built in tables such as the Mongoose Legends sheet would not be accepted as it is no longer a best practice to use tables as layouts . However you could update the current character sheet on the repository and it will be eligible. Currently there is not a requirement for older sheets to be updated though its encouraged. :) - Cassie

Vince, If its a new entry on the approved list, then no using tables for layouts. Copying & pasting code is a really bad practice that I advocate against. Using a character sheet as a reference can be very helpful if its doing something you like but adapting a new sheet from an old one often results in bring over bad habits and/or bad code. Last quarter I evaluated over 300 of our 600+ character sheets in the repository...It was a learning experience. :)

Jakob, the inline styles will haunt me till the end of times.......... Vince, I can only imagine. :) You've been doing this longer than I. Getting back on topic,  Dave if you need help just let us know the specifics scenario. There is a wealth of knowledge at hand here. If you really want to create a new character sheet the best place to start is learning CSS/HTML, Code Academy is a good option. Reading up on Flexbox or Grid  can be helpful for planning the design. Then get to coding. The best way to learn is through practice. :) Improving on old sheets is a good way to get familiar with code but be mindful of bad programming practices. Since you have a sheet you like that could be a place to start.
OK! To start! Thanks everyone for your guidance and adhoc remarks. David yeah I know the difference is slim between the two. Just though I would put it out there if there was  a better (shinny) way to do a more in line one. And I will more than likely go with the Mythras one and suck up the difference. Thanks. Vince & Cassie again thanks for the guidance as to if I wanted to do it myself. Unfortunately I am not that way inclined being older and less tech savvy it would more than likely do me more harm than good. I tend to build my adventures adhoc from the ground or to convert old pnp adventures all from other settings other than DnD. I do spend a lot of time in prep but i do enjoy it and that is a thing for me. If I start getting into areas such as coding etc it will take the shine away (I couldnt justify taking 6 hrs prep for a campaign then 36hrs to do a character sheet!lol) for me I feel and this being my only hobby I wouldn't want to do that. And not to take anything away from the brilliant guys and gals who do that stuff, without them and their work people like myself would be Up Shit Creek Without a Paddle! So Thanks you to all those people. So thanks again folks and it looks like the less shinny option of the Mythras CS Cheers Dave :o)

Greetings Dave, I completely understand. I spend so much time now coding after work that I have ceased to gamemaster. :( This forum or Github in Issues is a good place to put feature requests for sheets. I've knocked out a few myself on a whim. Keep running games and we will keep making sheets. :)
Cheers Mate ;o)
