I am scouting potential players for either joining a future
game with a few other players that I have played with or to start our own
weekly play group for D&D5e. Ultimately, I’m looking to
establish a group of 4-5 mature players (5-6 people), with previous D&D experience
(doesn't have to be a lot or even 5e), who will make a determined effort to
play on a weekly basis (with some exceptions of course) and contribute to a group experience.
Looking for Players with the
following Qualities:
Preference for cooperative play
Prefer Rules as Intended to Rules
as Written- shades of grey not a strict black and white
Comfortable with both role play and
Roll play
Appreciative of strategy &
tactics, as well as being spontaneous (i.e. planning and action)
Humility, Conscientiousness, Openness, and Agreeableness
Flexible thinker
A Good Sense of humor (is a must) Experienced D&D player, any version, especially if you have more experience
playing D&D than video games
Bonus Points: If you can, or want to, Dm at some point.
Game Basics
D&d5e-whatever books we decide
on
Time: Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. 6pm+ Fri-Sat, Sunday 4-9pm.
Eastern Standard Time
We will be using Discord for voice communication
About me: I’m an old school player in a new school world. I
had stepped away from gaming for a number of years and a couple years ago
started playing (tabletop) again with a few friends, until the game was called
on account of life (jobs, moving, etc). So, here I am. Reinvigorated and
wanting to play…let’s give this virtual tabletop a try. One of the biggest
issues I have found here is finding a solid group of people that can last any
length of time. This is the challenge…
Experience: AD&D 1st & 2nd ed.=15+yrs playing/12yrs
DMing; D&D5e about 18 months; about a year on Roll20 (played a couple and
ran 1 game on Roll20). I have several years of experience playing a variety of
other RPGs and LARPs.
I prefer story and character-driven campaigns with tactical combat.
What I expect from party members: To be respectful of each
other, have a cooperative play style, to know your character, to contribute to
the group experience.
What I expect from a DM: Someone knowledgeable &
engaging, who works to maintain a good game balance, with the ability to adjust
in-flow and highlight each player. The DM has the right to alter what they see
fit, but with do so with the immense responsibility of honoring the sacred
trust of the players while maintaining balance, and do so mindfully with great
care.
