[TIP] Audio tip for GMs

ALL,

I've seen a few posts asking for some way to organize soundcloud clips into folders - or to make them "tag-able" and searchable like library art and handouts.

Until roll20 devs put something like that into place (which would be cool and we'd all be eternally grateful), one thing you can do is rename all the sound clips.

I've got three broad categories. Background, Combat, SFX. I rename the audio clips as "Combat (Dark, Tense)" or similar "Background (Super Happy, Won Battle)". This allows me to quickly scroll through and find the right audio clip for the scene.

You probably all know this already or have your own method. Just sharing for those that might not.

Being able to re-name the audio files is definitely a huge time-saver.

Another thing I do: If there are certain sound files that I absolutely know I'm going to want to use in an upcoming game, I will add a sequential series of numbers in front of the file name (1, 2, 3, etc). This causes those files to migrate to the very top of the list, where they are quickly and easily found during actual game play.
