[5e][LFP][18+] Homebrew campaign set in my adaptation of the Monster Hunter universe

I'm a new DM looking to start a campaign. I've been playing D&D for close to 2 years now so I have a pretty good grasp on the mechanics. However if you have a problem with a new DM that's fine by me, I'm just putting it out there so people know what they're joining. I don't have a set time yet as I haven't yet received my schedule for 2nd semester of uni. I'm open to discuss it to try and find the best time suited to everyone. You will be starting the campaign at level 1. I allow homebrew so long as you give me your reasons/lore behind it and it's within reason. If you're using a homebrew class give the link in your reply so I can take a look at it. I'm looking for 5-7 players to start. I'm going to allow mature content in this campaign, though I'm not focusing on it, so the age requirement is 18 and above. You don't need to know the Monster Hunter franchise to join this campaign, I just personally love it and am using it as a base. Right so tell me the following: Preferred name: Age: D&D experience: Monster Hunter experience (If any): How you rank the 3 branches of RP in importance (Roleplay, Exploration and Combat): Preferred play time (Give me your time zone): Give me your character idea and answer the following 2 questions: Why do you want to become a hunter? What do you want to achieve as a hunter?

Orion, Age 20 I have been playing D&D 5e for a year and a half with a year on 3.5. I am in some groups already and love the role playing that can occur. With monster hunter on the other hand, I am a noob. I have only played World and only have played that for 40 hours, Hunter Rank of 10.  I love the roleplay aspect of the game of D&D and say I'm proficient in it as well as combat. Exploration is where I think the game is inherently dependent on the DM but I would say that Roleplay is first and if combat is the result of that roleplay, then that is dependent on the party and the DM. Sorry for the confusing breakdown but roleplay comes first and the others follow. I am in an uni too so I have a weird scheduled. I am good any time Wednesday after 12:30 pm PST and any time Friday ending before 4 pm PST. I am thinking a Tabaxi Rouge(or I can play a Bard if it is more thematically appropriate). This could be homebrewed to change only the size of the tabaxi from medium to small. Thus, I would be a Calico, aka. from the Melynx race. Like others of his race, he sees hunting as a way of gaining honor and luxury from a life that would usual be just dull otherwise. His goal is to have enough money to have humans work for him.
This sounds absolutely incredible.MH is obe if my favorite franchises and I adore D&D. Its a match made in Heaven's Mount (pun intended) Preferred name: James Age: 24 D&D experience: about 2 years with 5e, 6 months DMing Monster Hunter experience (If any): oh jeez. A lot. Ive probably put close to 300 hours on every English game aside from MHGU, and ive played Portable 3rd. Longest playtime was probably 1000ish Hours in my first game, which was Tri. How you rank the 3 branches of RP in importance (Roleplay, Exploration and Combat): Role play, I like to believe that im able to get into character. With a monster hunter setting I would go all in. For combat I love making efficient and precise characters and I love tactical gameplay. I'm hopeful that ill put my MH experience to use. For exploration I am good at picking put things to investigate and enjoy searching my surroundings. Preferred play time (Give me your time zone): Any time at or after 12 pm pst works fine, but a consistent time would be nice. Give me your character idea and answer the following 2 questions: Why do you want to become a hunter? For the reason that hunters exist in the first place, to maintain ecological balance between wyverns and humanoids. And to learn what there is to learn about the world that is yet to be recorded. What do you want to achieve as a hunter? To be known as a hunter that brings not only balance and safety, but knowledge to people to be able to maintain the delicate balance of nature and civilization. A hunter-Scholar if you will. I have a wizard ready that ive been dying to play that fits that bill perfectly but if you're running a no-magic or low-magic setting I can make whatever is allowed. My girlfriend is also interested in playing, her name is Erica and she will probably post her own thing.

Preferred name:mark Age:30 D&D experience: almost 2 years now, 1 entire year of dming. Monster Hunter experience (If any): i've seen gameplay of a few of the games. How you rank the 3 branches of RP in importance (Roleplay, Exploration and Combat): all three are important and trying to rank them seems silly to me? I enjoy all 3 of those aspects to a dnd story. Preferred play time (Give me your time zone): 4pm cst to 6am cst Give me your character idea and answer the following 2 Questions:   bugbear rogue who loves being brushed, and defends the rights of people with gorgeous hair. His own hair is very rough, near unbrushable and unkempt, despite his efforts (his hair seems to refuse to budge, even with prestidigitation.) and a deep fear of all his hair being burnt off. He is a very friendly fellow, and tries to get along with most, but he does have slight prejudice to nonhairy people, as they seem less a pproachable.. Why do you want to become a hunter? This character has heard rumors of a giant beast that, when used properly, can make his hair as majestic as he wishes. What do you want to achieve as a hunter? Glorious locks of hair that make all shutter at how good it looks.
Preferred name: Blaze Age: 19 D&D experience: 4 years of 5E Monster Hunter experience (If any): played a few of the games like generations and i play world  when im bored but never made it to far  How you rank the 3 branches of RP in importance (Roleplay, Exploration and Combat): 1. that should always have a spot in the game 2. depending on the type of game it can be great or small   3. i like it. Preferred play time (Give me your time zone): EST after 10pm Give me your character idea and answer the following 2 questions: im not sure of the race as im not sure how you would like to trancfer that into D&D logic. i would like to play a rouge like character that likes to make traps and kill with deadly force. to be honest i would like to talk more about the game before making a character to far. granted i can play any class if we have someone else that would like to take that role Why do you want to become a hunter: most likely for the glory and test new traps What do you want to achieve as a hunter: master of traps
Preferred name: Ryan Age: 26 D&D experience: fair bit of pathfinder and some 5e only been palying tabletops for about 2 years Monster Hunter experience (If any): monster hunter world abit and the Wii-u game How you rank the 3 branches of RP in importance (Roleplay, Exploration and Combat): Rank roleplay [even not best at it lol ] exploration fun to see what Dm come up with. combat i am not best at it so lowest thinbg i care about Preferred play time (Give me your time zone): i am from the UK GMT and i can only play on mondays so if cant do mondays someone else can play over me Give me your character idea and answer the following 2 questions: Why do you want to become a hunter? to make thing easier my guess mostly would be hunting for money for famliy What do you want to achieve as a hunter? mostly has some kind of famliy reason for hunting
Preferred name: Erica Age: 24 D&D experience: 2 years, only as a player Monster Hunter experience (If any): I've only played world, but Ive seen bits and pieces of the rest of the franchise.  How you rank the 3 branches of RP in importance (Roleplay, Exploration and Combat): Roleplay, Exploration, Combat.  Preferred play time (Give me your time zone): Any time around 12:00 pm PST, or after. Give me your character idea and answer the following 2 questions:  I'd either probably play a ranger or a fighter that is arcane archer. It really depends on how the setting is and if we are doing magic/low magic. It also depends on if we're using the weapons that are in 5e or the ones in the games. Why do you want to become a hunter? The thrill, its the only thing that really "gets me off" What do you want to achieve as a hunter?  Nothing really, doing it for fun, it helps that it pays well.
Hello gents I'm sorry to say that the campaign has officially filled up. If you didn't receive a reply from me then you didn't make it.
